Just For Fun: Rank Your Top 5 At Each Position

Let's have a little fun and debate because I'm sure everyone feels differently on this topic. Rank your Top 5 at each position going into the season. QB, RB, WR, TE. If you want to list more feel free but I figured 5 would be a nice benchmark. This is top 5 for fantasy purposes, not for actual game managers

Here are mine.

QB -
1) Rodgers
2) Brees
3) Cam
4) Stafford
5) Brady

RB -
1) Foster
2) Rice
3) McCoy
4) Mathews
5) Trent - Putting the rookie here because of how many touches he is all but guaranteed

*Didn't put AP there because of injury*

WR -
1) Calvin
2) Larry Fitz
3) Greg Jennings
4) Roddy White
5) Andre Johnson

*Honorable mention to Brandon Lloyd. I think with Brady he will have a ridiculous year*

TE -
1)Gronk
2) Graham
3) Fred Davis
4) Finley
5) Gates

Andre Johnson 2012 Season Outlook

This guy is going to be one of the tougher ones to figure out this year. When he was on the field he showed that he is still a top WR but over the last two years the injury bug has bitten him, especially last year. He's obviously on the wrong side of 30 so one would think that he could be an injury risk next year, especially with the hammy. They tend to linger especially with age.

Where does he rank in the receiver corps right now and what round would you drafting him in?

Arian Foster 2012 Season Outlook

Foster had another tremendous season in 2011; despite only playing in 13 games due to his hamstring issues, he still finished with over 1200 yards and 12 total TD's. The Texans have taken a hit this year in terms of losing some key pieces to the team, but Foster still should remain the first pick in most redraft leagues. No offense in the league is revolved around a single player more than Houston is for Foster.

McFadden is one of the very few backs in the NFL with the potential to reach 2,000 rushing & receiving yards but can he stay on the field to reach those numbers? Oakland is now without handcuff Michael Bush so here is to hoping this will be the year in which DMC can put a complete season together.

Marshawn Lynch 2012 Season Outlook

Quote

The Seattle Seahawks would like to cut down on the number of carries RB Marshawn Lynch gets because they want to keep him healthy throughout the season. What are the thoughts on Lynch this year? Will he still run angry with a fat wallet in his back pocket?

Matt Forte 2012 Season Outlook

Fantasy owners of this guy can't catch a break. He starts off last year on pace to be a Top 5 and maybe Top 3 back. Cutler gets hurt then he gets hurt, then gets franchise tagged so he vows to hold out. On top of that the Bears sign Michael Bush who puts up RB1 numbers everytime DMC got hurt(how doesn't a team give him a shot to start somewhere I'm looking at you Tampa and Indy)

Anyway his situation going into this year is looking shaky at best. Will he come out of camp and play hard if he doesn't get a new contact. If he does get a new contract will he turn into CJ0k and just lose motivation. How many carries will Bush take away from him? How many goal line carries will he lose? How has his leg healed? All questions that really have to make you wonder if he will be worth the first round pick that his talent and production says he should get.

Where would you take him? What will he be able to do this year? How much does the signing of Bush hurt his value?

Robert Griffin III 2012 Season Outlook

Very surprised to not see a thread dedicated to him yet even though he's a rookie, but I'll start it off. What do you guys think about him this year? We will be seeing him all over ESPN every week, probably more than Andrew Luck. Will he fall a victim to the hype or will he surpass everyone's high expectations?

Personally, I am targeting him on draft day but have no idea what round he will go in. Last year, Newton went undrafted in my 10 team league, but the Cam Newton effect will make guys take notice to RGIII early. RGIII is faster than Newton but he is much smaller in stature, so no way will he get all those rushing touchdowns, but I still like him to run for at least 500 yards with 5-7 scores. I also think he will be more careful with the ball than Newton and may throw for better numbers just by the scouting reports and tape I've seen of him.

The Redskins offense isn't that bad, and they have a D that should be able to keep them in games. They have an OK rushing attack, two very good pass catching TE's, a deep threat in Garcon, and some other young WR's like Morgan and Armstrong, not sure if Moss is still on the roster. My biggest concern is their offensive line. I've seen RGIII take his fair share of sacks, and I hope he isn't going to be running for his life. I'm not sure he has the natural ability to make defenders miss like Vick but he's still a very good runner.

I am very much hoping to draft him and have another decent QB as a backup like Eli Manning, Roethlisberger, or even someone like Cutler or Palmer. I think he has the potential to finish as a top 5 QB similar to Newton, but he'll be a lot more risky because he won't be taken as late.

My early prediction for a stat line would be 3400 pass yds, 23 td, 13 INT, 550 rush yards, 7 TD. I am not sure if those are top 5-10 numbers but he should have some pretty big games here and there.

Michael Vick 2012 Season Outlook

Quote

Vick suffered hand, finger and ribs injuries to go along with a concussion, but Kapadia points out that all four injuries occurred on plays where Vick completed a pass out of the pocket. It could be an indictment of an Eagles' offensive line that played extremely poorly early in the year, or also an indication that Vick was prone to holding onto the ball for too long. Even if his injuries occurred inside the pocket, there's no doubt Vick would benefit from some extra caution in 2012.

I love Vick and his potential to single handedly win you some weeks but I think his injury history (has yet to play a full 16-game season since 2006) makes him a player to avoid this year, right?
