Begin of story:

we use CBS. cbs sends out a standardized trade notification to everyone in the league when a trade goes down.

yesterday, a buddy sent this out:

it is almost an exact duplicate of the notification cbs sends out, only with some minor differences.

well, many owners in the league didn't read the fine print, and it fooled them. also factoring into that is that one owner (the white elephants) is notorious for bad trades where he gets fleeced.

so this email gets sent out:
This trade is a joke! A borderline #1 fantasy qb and te for a #3 wr and a kicker?????

i respond with this:
i agree, this trade IS a joke!

STILL not getting it, a different owner sends this out:
Where's the veto on that commish?

the owner who sent out the bogus message then sends this:
Some folks are quicker than others...

Everyone must go! Throw me some trade offers!

i respond to the veto email with this:
there will be not veto, whereas the owners informed that they had a footrace and the winner would get the better side of the deal.

seems fair to me!

prompting this email from a different owner:
Foot race, hell Im too lazy for that. I wouldve just bribed him with a case of beer.
(this owner had previously gotten busted in 2004 for acquiring chris chambers for a case of beer and some schmo player)

then this email gets sent out from an owner who bet $50 on best regular season record with the white elephants:
well, i'll say i just locked up $50 from maloney....Thankyou sir

THEN, the capper. the funniest part is that the owner getting fleeced in the fake trade, the white elephants, fell for it too! what a moron:
WHAT THE FUkK IS THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? I NEVER PROPOSED OR ACCEPTED THIS TRADE. I WOULD HAVE TO BE OUT OF MY FUkKING MIND!!!!!!!!!!!! I WASN'T EVEN AWARE A TRADE WAS OFFERED. FUkK YOU MICHAEL TURNER OVERDRIVE. WHAT AN INSULT TO ME THAT YOU WOULD EVEN OFFER A TRADE LIKE THIS. COMMISH, HOW COULD YOU EVEN ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN. then the fool places 3 after-midnight calls to me, waking me and my wife up. prompting this response from me this morning:

also, FYI (again), curse words get your email filtered from MICHAEL TURNER OVERDRIVE, so be creative and say FUKK and $hit.

So good man. I'm patting myself on the back over here. The reaction from SLOPPY SECONDS alone was priceless to me, but apparently that was just one candle for the cake WHITE ELEPHANTS sent.

at least he can enjoy this, since michael-turner overdrive is sporting a 3-7 record. white elephants are last with 2-8, and he is on pace to lose three $50 bets.

I gave Cotchery (my WR2) who just went 6-90 and Flacco (my QB2) who just threw for 300yds and 3TDs. I got Ray Rice (looked like a solid timeshare at that point) and Roddy White (measly 5-42). At the time, it looked like a good trade on my part but not amazing.
