Good value in the non pick. Even if you drafted him with your last pick, you would get tempted to start him and then you would be disappointed.

LOL!!
Yep, he's already penciled in on my "Avoid" list for 2013. The thing with DMAC is even if you draft him and he gets off to a big time start and you want to trade him before the inevitable happens, other owners will be weary because of his past. Which means you are still stuck with him. I hate players with little trade value.

Yeah, the guy will be an absolute headache to own regardless of how he performs.
He starts with a couple bad games and people will be in one of two camps: "buy low on DMC" or "jump ship on DMC".
He starts with a couple good games and people will be in one of two camps: "sell high on DMC" or "buy DMC from the people who think they're selling high".
Then he gets injured somewhere in the week 6 to week 10 range and everyone explodes.

2. don't draft a kicker/defense until the last rounds.
3. don't have a strategy.
4. track which positions other teams have taken early.
#4 is very helpful when you decide to wait on a position [usually QB]. if i know 6 teams in between me and my next pick all have their QBs ... i know i can wait another round or 2. works very well for me every year. i just check off the position it's a lot easier than writing in the players' names.

+1 on #4.
I do this every season, always seems to work.
Only this season I wanted RG3 in a middle round, still didn't have a qb. Was drafting at #11, #12 had Cam from round 1 so I took a RB and decided to wait his two picks and take him next round. He still took RG3.....
Ended up having to trade him later for Cam.

Agreed. Read as much as you can about every player, every coach, every team. Don't be afraid to make your own rankings that are totally off-the-wall compared to those of the "experts".

For the first time in a few years, I went off on my own research and I didnt rely on the "experts" nearly as much as I did in the past and it has paid off nicely. Never take one "expert" or "magazines" opinion. Believe in YOUR research which should be the collection of a ton of info from various places. Make "google" your best friend. Great post fred.

The consensus is going to be “wait on a QB”. I think this is absolutely correct. With the emergence of Kaepernick, Luck, and Wilson, there are easily 10+ players who can be considered QB1s. I have no problem being the last one to draft my starting QB in a 12-team league and ending up with a guy like Romo (yes, I did see that week 17 game).
Some will argue that this depth at QB only increases the value of the top couple QBs who manage to separate themselves from everyone else. This might be true, but it’s just too hard to predict if any QBs actually will separate enough to be worth an early pick, or who exactly those QBs will be. Brees and Rodgers are safe bets to lead all fantasy QBs, but it’s not exactly difficult to envision Brady, RGIII, Cam, Peyton, etc giving them a run for their money. Arguments can be made that Kaepernick, Luck, and Wilson now have top-5 upside as well. All of this, and I haven’t even mentioned poor Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford.
ADP will probably vary wildly next year – we’ll see crazy runs where eight QBs go in the first two rounds in some leagues – but I don’t see myself touching a QB until at least round six.
WR
After the handful of elite, consistent WRs, there appears to be a huge plateau of boom-or-bust types that just goes on forever. My strategy is to grab one elite WR in the early rounds and then fill out my WR spots with whichever high-upside players my gut tells me to take in the mid-late rounds.
RB
You will need good RBs to win in 2013. That sounds too obvious, but the incredible depth at QB and WR will make RB more important than ever. I see a ton of uncertainly after the top 10 RBs or so -- we're going to see some major busts and some guys who come out of nowhere. People will argue that this means you shouldn't waste early picks on questionable RBs, but I think it's just the opposite. Load up early on a bunch of RBs you like, and let the depth at QB and WR fall to you.
TE
As for tight ends – I have no idea. I’m either going for Gronk, Graham, or Hernandez or I’m drafting a TE alongside my kicker and defense.
In conclusion: Draft lots of RBs in the early rounds. Take a QB late. Do your own research and pick the right guys.
(I’ve decided to start putting extensive thought into my 2013 strategy now while the mistakes I made in 2012 are still fresh in my mind. I want to have a solid plan in place before the Darren McFadden and Ryan Mathews hype trains turn my brain to mush.)

RB - Get an elite RB in the 1st round, if you miss out on a quality RB that you're sold on as a stud RB if you have a lower 1st round pick. My backup plan would be Brees (you know what you're getting) or Calvin, Green, or maybe even Gronk but I'm not sure with the health issues. Then, get your RB2 later in the 3rd-5th rounds. I also like the idea of stocking up on a couple of primed back up RB's that very well could emerge in 2013 in the 7th-9th range...
WR - There's a pretty plentiful amount some serious WR studs that look good for 2013. A lot of them look really really good to own in 2013. I will lean towards getting a WR back to back in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. You can get a sick combo of your WR1/2 by doing this. I might even continue with a very solid flex play with a WR in the 4th, but the 4th round is either WR3/RB2 for me depending on who's there on my target list. All the true quality fantasy wideouts are flying off the board by the end of round 3, so rounds 2/3 for WR's looks very intriguing to me.
TE - I'm probably going to wait on TE, I'll monitor where Gronk and Graham fall to, if they fall in terms of their ADP they MUST be considered. But with the huge drop off on TE's after those two however, just wait it out. I'm thinking of grabbing two cheap TE's later, maybe a combo of Heath Miller/Martyb/V.Davis or something. Still working on this, however...Hernandez ADP is still shaping up, with his injuries I'm hoping he could last till the 5th round range, I doubt it though.
Things could always change for me since it's so early, but right now: I'm getting my stud RB in the 1st round, and trying to hone in on wideouts in 2-3, RB2 in the 4th-ish, QB in 5th-6th, TE 6th-8th.
Typical flow might be: (1st-RB)--(2nd-WR)--(3rd-WR)--(4th-RB)--(5th-WR/RB)--(6th-QB)--(7th-RB/WR)--(8th-TE)...

I'm not a fan of avoiding players in the second round (or any round) because it's "too early" -- the truth is that there will be plenty of RBs who finish the 2013 season with values well above where they were drafted. I'll be targeting guys like MJD and Trent Richardson in the second round.
Which RBs do you like in rounds 3-6?

You only need one RB1 but it has to b a top 5 guy and your other two RBs as long as they r serviceable 12-20 ranked guys ur good.
Two stud WRs could b a difference this yr as there are only 6-7 clearcut #1s and a whole lot of "upside" #2s
