Basically, this is Mathews handcuff.  I wasn't paying attention to transactions to see that he went to SD this year.

I think if Mathews campaign ends early due to injury he still gives the Chargers a fighting chance.

I don't see Battle in contention for starting job.  It is Mathews in the fray every Sunday.

He won't need to be rostered until an injury were to strike but most people will go straight for Brinkley despite Battle being the better back that would likely take over.

if i knew he signed with san diego i would've been hyping him all summer

we know mathews is "injury prone" ... it's a good offense ... and he doesn't have much competition (ronnie brown? curtis brinkley?) if mathews went down ... i think he'd be a flex at least in that situation



sprinkle some powdered sugar on jim brown and i can't tell the difference

They just signed him today.  I don't know if Robrain knew that or not before he suggest someone start a Battle thread in the RB thread lol.

I feel much better drafting Mathews not to be honest.  I didn't like who was behind him if he went down with injury.

I think there are teams that he could be a starting RB on that would be better off with him starting for them.  Which is sad.

Besides that, he has the coolest last name for a running back.  To bad his first name isn't something crazy like Damian or Dick.

I do seriously feel a little more secure paying up to $50 for Mathews in auction.

Here are his stats from last year....

149 Attempts - 597 Yards - 2 TDs - 9 Receptions - 68 Yards

If you bump him up to 300 carries....

300 Carries - 1202 Yards - 4 TDs - 18 Receptions - 137 Yards

"Has a well-developed frame with very thick legs, knotted calves, good upper body thickness with room to carry additional bulk, long arms and loose hips..."

thick, loose, and moves when the QB says hike ... i don't know what else you want from a RB.
