We'll see. In PPR I think he'll be just fine. One reason I traded for Westbrook (already had McCOY) is because they pass alot and McCoy should get an opportunity to catch some balls out of the backfield.

Here's the story. The opening line: "If Brian Westbrook relies on the advice of the two Pittsburgh concussion experts he saw yesterday, the Eagles' franchise running back seems likely to return to the field, quite possibly this season." Pure conjecture that is further diluted by the use of "quite possibly". The story goes on to say he will be retested in 2-3 weeks. There is simply no way to know at this time. The risk is yours anyway you choose to perceive the situation. All I know is that in my opinion if you don't already own Westbrook then unless your line-up is stacked and you want the bonus of having a stud to pull out of the mothballs come playoff time don't acquire him.

''I am delighted to have you play football. I believe in rough, manly sports. But I do not believe in them if they degenerate into the sole end of any one's existence. I don't want you to sacrifice standing well in your studies to any over-athleticism; and I need not tell you that character counts for a great deal more than either intellect or body in winning success in life. Athletic proficiency is a mighty good servant, and like so many other good servants, a mighty bad master.'' Teddy Roosevelt, from a letter to his son

QUOTE (tyrone biggums @ Nov 18 2009, 09:50 PM) This new news is very promising for playoff matchups. Hopefully he isnt done Yeah the new news is promising... I'm not sure what to make of it though, is it promising for the rest of Brian Westbrook's life and not so much for the rest of his football career? I'm really still not expecting to see him on the field again this season. It's hard to tell if the concussions specialists are "expressing optimism" because his brain isn't currently destroyed, or because they think he can play football again this year. Something tells me that, not being team-employed doctors, they are more concerned with the former. The news I read said "Brian Westbrook expected to make a full recovery" and mentioned that he'd be out at least another 2-3 weeks. I guess when I read "full recovery" I assume they mean that he did not suffer permanent brain damage (at least not yet) from the two serious concussions he just suffered. If he does, he's an idiot and you have to question the doctors who cleared him to play. Reoccurring concussions are serious business and not fully understood by the medical community. I'm guessing that after 2-3 weeks the Eagles are going to list him as Questionable but not allow him to take the field. Isn't it also kind of strange that the doctors are telling all of this to a reporter?

QUOTE (SuperJoint @ Nov 19 2009, 06:27 PM) If I had him I probably would. While the latest news is definitely good for him personally, It's very unlikely the Eagles give him any more meaningful snaps this year. Possibly in the playoffs (if they make it) - but that's pretty doubtful as well, considering the hitting that time of year is even more intense. I think there's a good chance he gets deactivated. I did. I wouldn't risk my playoffs on a 30 year old with bad knees and 2 concussions. Especially after this bum cost me a week when I was down 2 on MNF. Thanks for the 1.1 pts and the L!
