So, I hardly ever look at Yahoo's Big Board site, but was scanning through it tonight while killing some time. Came across Elton Brand, who has moved up to the 4th spot with the following comment.... Big News: C eligibility coming very soon

He's been mentioned in some trade talks in the Asst Coach thread. This could add some insider fuel to the fire, because if anyone can figure out Yahoos position requirements, it's got to be one of the guys writing for them.

it's pretty crazy that they would add position eligibility to a guy (especially a stud) so close to the end of the season. does anyone who knows more about the Clippers situation have any idea about why Brand might get the "C"??

damn if this is the case i might try to make a play for him with JON and additional trash.

That's because he has been starting at C for the past 4 games or so, when Kaman has been out with the flu and then getting off the bench while he regain his form. Brand shifted to C and Thomas started at PF, but now it seems like Kaman is backto the starting lineup as C. I'm not sure if Brand will get the C afterall...

Yahoo position eligibility comes from Stats, Inc. not from Yahoo's writers or staff.

Not to argue but I have to say Buser is far worse. Guy writes a weekly column yet he links to one of his leagues where he's in 11th place and still riding guys like Nelson and Haywood while guys like Mutombo, Warrick, and Duhon are available.

That's the funniest part! If it were an industry league, we could accept that someone's team is going to be in the back of the pack, but a family and friends league, someone whose job is to write fantasy sports articles should be in the top third at least!

Here's a question:

In a league of so-called fantasy experts and columnists, don't you think someone has to finish in 11th place?

Furthermore, Nelson is better than Duhon, and Haywood is a C with long-term potential, unlike Mutombo.

With the exception of Dr A, there isn't one fantasy writer on the internet that knows as much as most regulars on this list and a few others.

Most of them are clueless. They couldn't even get the elite 8 right in pre-season. It's a joke.

As far as brand getting a C, I can see Funston having a little inside info, and I am not so sure why he doesn't get a C considering he plays center for them whenever they go small ball which they are forced to do very regularly, but overall, it does seem pretty late in the season.

I agree with the comment on the fantasy writers. The clowns ESPN has are always about a week or two late on writing any big article which basically makes them worthless in competitive leagues. Anyone that watches basketball and has a clue could do as good a job as most of these guys. Funston was so bad not even ESPN kept him around so I give as much credence to what he says as I do a first year owner. He may know something about the Brand center eligibility since he works for yahoo but my guess is it is speculation based on Kaman missing games and Brand starting at Center in his absence.

He's got it! Just noticed it this evening (or morning for some). Who knows how long it's been there, as I haven't moved him out of my PF slot all season.
