Zack Wheeler went 5.2 innings... 1 hit... 1 earned run...7 K's... 2 BB against a pretty good lineup from Tacoma. Gave up a home run too Carlos Peguero.

Good start in what looks like his last start of the year in the minors.

Next Friday they play the Phillies, I believe you are referencing his initial call up date which was then pushed back to the Tuesday DH against the Braves.

Sorry about that! Thanks for setting me straight, now I am that much more psyched for Tuesday.

The Braves' propensity to strike out has me admittedly giddy.  Freeman is the only one that concerns me in that lineup...he keeps him in check it could be a nice debut.

I think this guy is going to be special. Always regarded as a better player than Harvey. Definitely well worth the wait.

Haha same here, I just couldn't miss the chance on his keeper value.  Even though I'm a diehard Braves fan I am still super excited to see this kid pitch.

I read somewhere that they're going to go 6 man rotation.

http://espn.go.com/b...a-short-period. They're making people pitch for their jobs in this "short" period. Should just make the decision now instead.

It'll be a shame if Marcum gets to keep pitching every 5 days. He's been dreadful all year. At least Niese/Gee/Hefner are younger and may have a future with the club. Marcum is simply a washed up vet that should be cut loose.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I think the Mets were kind of planning this entire double header thing with Harvey the entire time. The thought that he was supposed to start this past Friday was probably put aside not because of the fact his last AAA start was not great, but because they saw an opportunity to put fans in the seat with the double header thing with Wheeler and Harvey. In my opinion, he would have started this past Friday had there not be a double header Tuesday.

Guess it doesn't really matter anymore since he is set to start Tuesday, and it should be a cool to see him pitch. But it sort of hit me that maybe this is what the Mets thought of at the last minute to put some fans in the seats.

The DH is in Atlanta...I question the Mets a lot...as a die hard fan...but, the whole thing about selling seats doesn't apply in THIS case due to them being on the road for his debut.

Didn't even notice that. Disregard my post then. Thought it was in NY, but I was wrong. Never mind then.

Any chance he gets 2 starts this week? Cant tell with Mets and their "current 6 man rotation."

Pretty sure Harvey is scheduled for the two-start week, getting the start on Sunday.
