My team won the championship and now I am trying to determine who to keep...I have 17 or 18 keeper worthy players and our league allows for 15 keepers...5x5, $260 cap, 8 man mixed league...
Here are the 14 players I plan on keeping...
Matt Wieters $11 Ryan Howard $17 Prince Fielder $30 Brandon Phillips $16 Dustin Pedroia $11 Jay Bruce $11 Matt Kemp $16 Adam Lind $1
Tommy Hanson $1 Javier Vazquez $1 Heath Bell $1 Chad Billingsley $16 Cole Hamels $16 David Price $11
My 15th keeper is between these 3 players:
Roy Halladay $39 Wandy Rodriguez $1 Mariano Rivera $16 Bobby Abreu $5
Any thoughts???

Any thoughts???

I am going to have to consider making an offseason trade...I hate to drop that much talent back into the free agent pool...I am really torn on who to keep...That being said, Wandy does seem like the best option...I know Billingsley had a down year, but he has too much talent and upside for me to consider dropping him...If Bills returns to his 2008 form then he is an absloute steal...Dropping Halladay is tough, although I think I can get him back for right around the same price...It's a good thing our keeper deadline is not for several months so I have plenty of time to make up my mind...
Our league starts a 2b and a MI so I can keep both 2nd basemen...

QUOTE (ludawg23 @ Nov 6 2009, 04:10 PM) I would actually toss back Hamels and keep Abreu and Wandy Despite Cole's down year he still has youth on his side...If he comes close to regaining his 2008 form then like Bills he is a bargain...Abreu is aging and while he is rather consistent, my league mates aren't very high on him so I have a feeling he can be re-acquired in the draft for the same price...

Abreu just signed an extension with the Angels so you can pretty much pencil him in for another solid season, he is a roto-stud. He obviously doesn't hit for power anymore but what you see is what you're going to get from him. Absolutely no way you'll get him back for $5. If you believe in Hamels for 2010, then pick him up in the auction draft. If anything, his down year should negatively effect his value and you'll be able to get him for less than $16.

QUOTE (Rush2112 @ Nov 6 2009, 10:55 PM) Keep Wandy for $1 you can't get a better price like that for a young and high upside SP. I do like Wandy's upside but he is no longer considered "young"...He will be 31 in January...

QUOTE (Rush2112 @ Nov 7 2009, 10:00 PM) 31 isn't that "old" but Wandy is worthy of a keeper spot in leagues IMO. I agree...I'll probably end up keeping Wandy...

QUOTE (lavaman @ Nov 10 2009, 05:11 PM) Keep Roy and Rivera....throw back Billingsley. (and this from a Dodgers Fan)
Rivera has at least another year's worth of elite status in his bones. It is tempting to keep Roy and Rivera...That being said, it is an 8 man league so closers are VERY easy to obtain...I'd be shocked if Mo went for more than $16...Roy is $39 and will more than likely not go for much more...Bills had a down year, but IMO has shown more than enough over his career for me to bank on a solid bounce back season...
