In need of cheap 3's? Boom, hes your guy. On his way to a career year. Avging 1.5 3's and those will go up after 5 of em so far tonite. 9 pts 4 rebs on the yr. Currently, ranked around the 90th player on Yahoo. Kid would be sick in the starting lineup if ever given the chance.

Way better than half these bums who have threads like Ilyasova etc. Those guys cant even hold Dud's jock strap

People are still sleeping on this guy.....he's a great add-on to a team that needs 3's, Rebounds, and good percentages. His numbers over the past couple weeks have been tremendous and he leads the L in 3-Point %. I only wish I had a roster spot for this guy, but if keeps this up I may have to create one.

Men Lie, Women Lie, Numbers Don't.

Dudley for MIP in '09-10?

Dudley's problems has always been mins. And I still stand behind this guy with my reasoning above. If this guy could get a consistent 25-30 mpg, he would be gold and easily be more valuable than Ilyasova. But Gentry always is yanking this guys chain and giving him inconsistent MPG for no reason. Im not sure if Gentry is slowing working back Barbosa in the rotation but Da Dreaded Dragon Slayer has been playing the 6th man role nicely and holding his own

The past 2 and a half weeks though, he has been nice. Nice mins, about 1 stl per game, about 10-11 ppg, 4-5 rebs, 2-3 treys. He is gone in all my leagues. Both deep leagues and the standard 12 teamer and he has been for awhile now. I would advise picking him up asap if he is somehow in the FA pool

He has been on my 14 teamer since week 2, I love how he contributes across the board without hurting you in any categories. Throw in 1.5+ threes and hes gold. His minutes right now is where he will probably be all year, he has been playing more lately because he has been hot and hill/frye has somewhat cooled down. They also love him for his defense so he is an important piece to their rotation.

* How hard has it become to take Jared Dudley out of games? Gentry tried last game, sending Grant Hill to the scorer's table in the fourth quarter. But when Dudley hit a 3-pointer to maintain his status as the NBA's leading 3-point shooter by percentage (50.9), Hill headed back to the bench before Gentry said a word. "That's a testinmonty tow hat kind of guys we've got on our team," Gentry said. "In some situations, guys are so selfish that they would've checked right into the game."

agreed, "dread-eyed slayer" would be a bad nickname, but i think the OP referred to him as "Da Dread-ed Slaya" more as a description than a nickname. one love.

23 min. 3 pts. ZERO other stats tonight...

why is he so special? Honestly I think he's kinda worthless unless Grant Hill ever gets an injury in which time he'd be a huge steal.

Really? I mean wow, I guess I expected more from you. You dont like it when people come in the Eric Gordon thread and bash him for no reason. But you come into the Dudley thread highlighting some 9 PPG. I mean can we dig deeper than just PPG? Who cares about PPG? I thought roto leagues were about production across the board and Dudley has been doing just that the past 2 and a half weeks as I highlighted above. Take your hate on Dudley elsewhere.

The past 2 and a half weeks though, he has been nice. Nice mins, about 1 stl per game, about 10-11 ppg, 4-5 rebs, 2-3 treys. His Yahoo rank in the past week is 52. That is including his bad game from yesterday. While shooting 51% from the floor and 82% from the line during this past week. So, I advise you to do your homework next time. So, it does appear he does more than just 9 PPG as you state. As I mentioned in these past 2 and a half weeks the guy has averaged a steal per game.

And for his season rank depending on if you use the Yahoo total stats rank or average stats rank, the guy is still ranked between 85 and 110. Making him easily rosterable in your 12 team leagues.

i agree, for shallow leagues he's not gonna be a real good player. these last two week have been nice, but he's been somewhat inconsistent all season. gentry likes him though, so he should continue to get playing time and he should be a good source of high percentage 3s. beyond that though, well, don't expect much.

You're right. You might as well not even roster guys like Marcus Camby and Jason Kidd in anything less than 15 team leagues. Just not enough ppg.

If Shane Battier has been rosterable in standard roto leagues the past few years, which he has, then Dudley should as well imo. I play in a variety of league sizes, from 18 down to 12, and he's owned in all four I play in.

Dudley's a nice player, last night was his worst game in a while. Saying the NBA's leading three point shooter and one of its better perimeter defenders sucks reminds me of something a noob would say.

if 3's is what you want, 3's is what you'll get. with good 3pt%, btw.

he's a product of the Phoenix Suns offense. throughout history there have always been those guys who've had career years in this system.
Q-Rich, and James Jones come to mind.
this year its Frye and Dudley.

I couldnt disagree more. If you recall Dudley from his playing days at Boston College, he was a star at that school. The kid basically was their team. Hitting big shots and playing some D. He is exactly what a coach wants. The kid is a hard worker and has floated around the league but has finally found a place he can call home. I dont agree with the statement he is a product of the Suns offense. Does their offense suit his game? Sure, but this kid just needed consistent MPG around 25-30 mins and he always had raw talent. And now look what he is doing with those mins. Dudley got 20 MPG 1 year in Charlotte. And we all know Larry Brown's offense is a slow tempo type offense. I mean can Dudley be given some slack. The kid is only 24 years old

And if you want another example of a guy who always had talent but never given a chance, then look no further than your own LA Lakers. Shannon Brown always had some talent but was just raw and would make poor decisions. Another guy who came from the Bobcats. Larry Brown would give Brown some burn and when he made a bad pass or poor shot selection, the guy would not see the court for a few weeks. Now, look what Shannon Brown has turned out to be. At worst, he is a nice 6th man who brings energy off the bench and can score 10 or so pts if needed. His D is not bad either......Now, I ask is Shannon Brown a product of the Lakers triangle offense? An example of another guy who was a "late bloomer" but was a very good player at MSU
