QUOTE (MustacheToes @ Nov 20 2009, 08:54 PM) Yeah... top 5 in the second round. It's not all about potential, you need polish and a respectable basketball IQ to succeed in the NBA. Show me 3 stars in the NBA that don't display a high basketball IQ. Hell, even as dumb as Rasheed is, he even has an underrated IQ on the court. Marvin Williams looks like he was taken off the streets and thrown onto the courts cause of his athletic ability. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he went to Europe. I'll agree that he could be a star out there, and a top 5 fantasy player. Wow, are you serious? I think you can use dumb to describe Josh Smith, but definitely not Marvin. He's an unselfish player who knows his role, and within his role he's a very efficient player. This is the first time I've heard anybody criticize his basketball IQ.

QUOTE (MustacheToes @ Nov 20 2009, 09:06 PM) Josh Smith has turned into a good teammate and team player, Marvin has not and has never been. This is Marvin's 5th year in the league now, it might be time to realize this is as good as it gets. Obviously this is just my opinion, but not sure how you are going to predict a guy to become a top 5 player in his 10th year in the league... I think the fact that it's his 5th year in the league is an advantage rather than a disadvantage. He is still very young. He's younger than Tyler Hansbrough. Hansbrough was a lottery pick this year. Who would you rather have, Hansbrough or Marvin? I'm not bold enough to predict that he'll be a top 5 player in 5 years, but likewise I'm not bold enough to predict CP3 or Deron will be a top 5 player in 5 years. But he will be a star once he gets his opportunity to be the #1/#2 option. All I'm saying is the kid is very talented and he was not a bust. Point guards are flashy and more noticeable, but they're also more available. A well-built and atheletic forward is harder to find. One with 3-point range, nice shooting touch and excellent freethrow % is even more rare.
