Redskins RB Ryan Torain claims he hasn't lost a step despite a laundry list of injuries in his brief career.

Torain was a Mike Shanahan favorite in Denver but has broken his elbow, torn his ACL and strained knee ligaments since being drafted in 2008. He has a chance to carve out a third-down role in Washington's crowded backfield if he can stay healthy and prove he still has burst.

Oh yes.  I went there.  I for one hope he makes it because I can never get enough Ryan Torain in my life.

Oh boy, we need to find Panthers to pimp this guy to no end again.  That thread was loads of fun, and entertainment!

Thank you for starting this thread. It brings back great memories. Ryan Torain 2008 was my favorite thread ever.

I had him on my team for the game he tore his ACL. I just kept adding Denver RBs that year off WW. I think I drafted Selvin Young late and it was all downhill from there... Tough Torrain to climb when your RBs keep getting hurt.

I was in the same boat. I actually traded for Peyton Hillis at one point that year. Ew.

That was good...tip of the cap sir.

I can't be more excited about having a Torain thread back for 2010. Let the good times roll!

The Torain Train is back....ALL ABOARD!!! This guy is an unspoken fantasy hero thanks to all the entertainment the thread provided us last year.

All jokes aside, Ryan Torain is a guy that we would all love to see succeed. However, as old as the Redskins backs are....it is going to be some extremely tough competition coming off the injuries he has suffered. Of course he is going to be optimistic in saying he hasn't lost a step....maybe it's true since he is so young but those knee injuries are tough to come back from at 100%.

Let's all cross our fingers and of course get the hype rolling because this guy is coming back "MORE EXPLOSIVE THAN EVER"

Gentlemen, I leave you with a little portion of Ryan Torain's blog just to show the heart this guy has. He also said all the right things about his teammates including the RBs he is competing against.

See http://phoenix.fanst...hor/ryantorain/ if interested...

Taken from Ryan Torain Blog (4/8/2010)

"Fully Healed and Ready to Play:
For the last couple months I have been training at Triple Threat  Performance in Tempe, AZ. The all-star staff at Triple Threat has worked  with me to improve my game in every aspect. I am now fully  healed and more explosive than ever before."

"The Future:
While things haven’t gone perfect, I’ve learned a lot during my years in  the league.  Guys like Mike Shanahan and running backs coach Bobby  Turner have taught me what it takes to be a professional football  player.  As you can tell, timing (with injuries) has never been my  strong point.  Every time I’m ready to break out, another injury comes.   At age 23, I’ve been through injuries and disappointment.  But every  time, I’ve come back ready to play. I have the physical  skills.  I have the mental toughness.  Now I just want to play  football."

4/26/2010

"Mike Shanahan once said he thought you were “one of the most  gifted running backs I’ve ever been around for a long time.” What does  it mean to be playing for a coach with that much belief in you and can  you get back to that level after the injuries?
You know, that means a lot to me that Coach Shanahan would say that, but  I’ve got a lot to prove.  I really just don’t want to let Coach down.  I  want to show everyone that he didn’t make a mistake in drafting me and  didn’t make a mistake in giving me a second chance with the Redskins.   He has put his trust in me, so I’m most certainly going to put my trust  in him.

As for my injuries, I feel good and I’m working hard to keep my body  right.  That’s all I can do."

This guy is clearly one of the best talents to ever grace the NFL. If he stays healthy I see at least 1500 yds and double digit TDs.

I think you're being way too generous. He's clearly just as good as guys like CJ, AP, and MJD, but I'm not sure I'd call him "one of the best talents to ever grace the NFL" just yet. 1300 yards and 8 TDs is my projection for this year.

This is highly possible with Shanny coaching the team

Yeah. My guess is that he's an early 2nd-round pick in August once the hype train gets going.
