Should've had comeback player of the year as well...or can't someone win 3 of those things in the same season?

Manning was getting one and coming back from what many people thought was a career ending sequence of neck surgeries to perform as he did was equally impressive in its own right. AP got the one that matters more in the MVP Im sure hes happy with that.

Right, AP got his respects that he deserved, MVP is the big boy award, props to AP. I'm glad that they gave Manning the comeback player award, however. 4 neck surgeries is just as deserving of a comeback. It's ridiculously clear, there are two extremely valid arguments for either Peyton or AP to get the comeback player award. Peyton was well-deserving of the award, as AP would have been as well.

That was a little tongue in cheek on my part there. Manning did deserve comeback. Didn't play at all in 2011, 36 years old, 4 neck surgeries and puts up his 2nd best statistical year of his career, wow.

They got it right. AP was, by far, the most valuable player in the league this year. The Vikings, especially when Harvin went down, had no business being in the playoffs and are a 6-10 team at best without AP. He carried them to the playoffs and almost broke the all-time rushing record for a season while doing it. The Broncos made the playoffs and won a game with Tim Tebow, it wasn't all Peyton this year that Broncos team is very good.

Peyton was great and many people questioned whether he'd ever play again, so he's deserving of the comeback player award [although any other year AP wins this too, hands down].

I think AP was the clear choice for MVP. it was the best season I've ever witnessed from a RB, and he did it months after tearing up his knee with Christian Ponder as his QB.

The guy rushed for 969 yards after a hernia

___________________________________________________________________________

Adrian Peterson (sports hernia surgery) says he first suffered the injury in Week 10, and "questioned whether (he'd) be able to continue" by Week 16.

"Each week it just got worse and worse and worse," Peterson said. "The pain was a 10 on a scale of 10 (by Week 16)." The admission makes Peterson's historic 2012 that much more revelatory, as he averaged 163 rushing yards per game after first getting hurt. The Texans game makes sense as a low point, however, as Peterson could manage only 86 yards on 25 carries, and came out late. Peterson expects to resume working out in 3-4 weeks. As NFL.com's Albert Breer opined on Twitter, Peterson is proving to be the real-life Bill Brasky.

his 2012 season was legendary and he's such an easy guy to root for.

i'd like to believe he's just a freak of nature that happens to be the best RB talent of my generation, rather than another athlete that cheated to get back on the field. from the few clips i've seen of him rehabbing over the summer, i'm going with freak of nature. he worked his a** off just to get back ... pretty crazy he did all of this with a hernia too.

still my favorite AP play ever.

That one's good, but my favorite is this:

I love that he practically comes to a complete stop, pushes a dude over, and the rest of the defense still can't catch up to him.

^ that's probably my fav as well.

As far as PED goes I think it would be way easier if they just let pros use whatever they want. It's their bodies and they're the ones putting it all on the line as a profession. The dominant players clean would be the same dominant players on PED. Jackie Battle doesn't magically turn into Steven Jackson from taking PED.

One of my favorites as well. I believe AP came out of the game next play for Chestor Taylor and Taylor couldn't catch Favre's screen pass and lost the game for them. I always think of that Taylor play when I see that AP play.

AP has put up great numbers with Tarvaris Jackson, Favre, Ponder, and even Joe Webb some games. Some pretty awful QBs, he's just awesome. Hope I can get a top pick next year to draft him.
