Understanding the bat incident probably looks bad but the talent is such that no way he stays in the minors until 2015. 9 year contract no way your worried about a clock and dejesus shierholtz hairston soriano are not going to hold this guy back if he's mashing. And hidden in last weeks debacle was that he's mashing. Mashed last year mashing this year. His bat won't wait.

Seems like someone is a bit of a diva......Albert Belle?  :D

Cubs prospect outfielder Jorge Soler was benched for failing to run hard twice during Saturday’s game with High-A Daytona.
It hasn't been a good month for Soler, who recently received a five-game suspension after he charged the opposing dugout with a bat in his hand during a benches-clearing incident. While this particular transgression isn't out of the ordinary for players of any age, the Cubs hope the benching will send a message to the young outfielder. Soler, who signed a $30 million contract with the Cubs after defecting from Cuba, is hitting .276 (16-for-58) with two homers and a .785 OPS in 15 games this season. He is expected to be in Monday's lineup.

Have him in a dynasty league. Hope he matures as the season progresses. Loads of talent here.

The cubs have invested a lot of money with him. You would think he should be up sooner rather than later.

He won't see the majors this year.

If he hits well in Daytona (High A), then a late call up to Tennessee (AA) would certainly be in the cards. If he shows well during camp and performs well in Daytona next spring, you may see a mid-June call up next year.  This is provided he plays extremely well and is healthy.

Although he signed a 9 year contract, he can opt out once he hits arbitration (i.e. if he'd make more money through arbitration than what his current contract states), so its not like the Cubs necessarily have him locked up to a 9 year deal

6 for 6 including a double and HR so far today. I expect he will see a promotion to AA early in June.
