One of the most fun things to do in fantasy sports is trading.  What are some of the best trades that you have pulled off this season and what was your rationale/logic for proposing/accepting the trade?  This thread isn't necessarily for bragging, although it's somewhat welcome , and it also can be very helpful for assessing players' values when trying to sell high/buy low etc.

#1: My Joakim Noah + Mo Williams for Pau Gasol + Ty Lawson (vetoed)
-I'm still pissed that my "friends" vetoed this trade in the 2nd yr of our league.  I thought it was an opportune time to buy low on Lawson/Pau, while selling Noah high.  Wanted to get rid of two slightly injury prone players for two certified studs that would help with my %s.

#2: My James Harden + Trevor Ariza + Chris Kaman for Dwayne Wade + Marc Gasol + Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
-Crossing my fingers that this trade is processed.  Wanted to buy low on Wade, get rid of injury prone Kaman and Ariza, and adjust my team's TOs, FG%, and rebounds.

#3: My Davis West for Paul Millsap.  
-Sold high on D West in the first couple of weeks of the season and laughed to the bank.

Let's see now, I haven't really benefited from one of my trades but heres what I have done so far

Traded: Jeremy Lin for --John Wall (still waiting for the big payoff)
Traded: Josh Smith and Rodney Stuckey for -- Rajon Rondo and Ben Gordon (Not so happy about Ben Gordon but surprisingly he is doing better then stuckey. Rondo? BEAST!)

Over the first couple weeks of the season, I made the following series of trades:

1) My Gerald Wallace & Byron Mullens for Joakim Noah

2) My Joakim Noah for Stephen Curry

3) My Stephen Curry for Dwyane Wade


So, I effectively traded Crash & Mullens for Wade.

I like this one.  You land an underperforming Gay and a top 30 player in Dragic. I'm curious, how did you compensate for AV's rebounds?

Posted in another thread, and I don't know if this is anywhere close to being the best, but I traded David West and Tyreke Evans for Pau Gasol and Marcus Thornton. Needed some rebounding help, maybe I will ship off Marcus afterwards.

I got Beasley and KevMart for Joe Johnson and J.wall. My 8/9th pick for his 4/5th pick. Not a steal and im still waiting for it to pay off.

in around 24hrs it will go through


sessions was a FA pick up, Pekovic was 8th round pick and Hill was an auto pick in 12th round.. Gasol - 3rd round and Jennings - 4th round

A week before the season started, I traded Brandon Roy + LaMarcus Aldridge for Nicolas Batum + Chris Bosh in my 30 team dynasty league.

Traded James Harden & Bynum for Ty Lawson and Marc Gasol.

My logic - Bynum is the biggest question mark this season. The longer I hold onto him the more he loses his value if bad injury reports continue to make headlines. James Harden is a stud but with Kevin Durant manning my ship, I felt confident in selling Harden.

Lawson was under performing so I knew that his owner would want to sell because there is always that early season panic when early draft picks don't perform to expectations. Plus, I got Marc Gasol who is one of the safest and most productive Centers in the game.

If Bynum comes back, I still believe I got good value because 2-3 months of production from a top Center is better done 0 months of production from a top center who may not return this season. I wanted production now in hopes of making the playoffs later. If I need to plug in holes, I still got valuable pieces to trade.

i find zero satisfaction from trading for a guy where i rip the guy off.  Some of these trades were obviously made by retarded owners.  It's like taking candy from a baby.  Why play with dumb asses like that?

I traded Royce White for Byron Mullens this preseason. Unfortunately, my 8 other trades have royally screwed my team. I hate myself for trading away Serge and Ryan Anderson.

1. Traded Marc + Lawson + Joe Johnson and Hayward to LBJ + scrubs to form the best duo in fantasy basketball. LBJ + KD >
2. Traded Nash + Boozer to Horford + Kemba Walker (before the season starts)
3. Traded Gortat + Ellis to Marc + Paul George

And also, traded my 15th overall + 12th round pick for 24th and 25th pick overall.

Couldn't agree more here. Don't really understand it unless you're in Yahoo public leagues. For a serious, long-term league, simply attempting to rip off another owner gets you uninvited from the league pretty quickly, at least it would in the leagues I'm in.

Tough to lose Harden, but you probably had to in order to ship Bynum out. Still, you did great in getting value while you could. As each day passes, Bynum's value continues to tank. Gasol though is one of the most underrated fantasy centers and buying low on Lawson was smart too; he is bound to improve a great deal.

Don't know why the mods messed with the title.  I'm obviously not the only owner who likes to see other owners land great value for their players.  As predicted Harden trade was vetoed, but I'll retool it.   Saw Ersan traded for Asik. If Ersan miraculously turns it around, that trade could be a steal.
