12 team 6X6 mixed (+OBP and L), $275 cap, 5 keepers. I have 4 no-brainer keepers. They are:
Trout - $7
C. Gonzalez - $11
Cano - $26
Beltre - $18
For my 5th keeper, I have what seems like a no-brainer: Chase Headley at $4. However, I already have a 3B, and catcher is always a thin position. I could keep Carlos Santana (who I love next year) for $10. Should Santana be in considerations for this spot, or should I go with the cheap Headley (who I don't love, but is easily worth $4) and forget it?

1 catcher league - so the catcher position isn't as much a necessity to lock up.

I suggest Santana. Read what was said about these two just one year ago, and you'd be asking yourself if Chase Headley was even rosterable. He had one incredibly good half, Santana one incredibly bad one. Headley hit 27 HR's in his previous 1300 AB's prior to last season. He hit HR's at 4X his previous major league averages, 6X as often in the 2nd half. I'm not betting on anything like a repeat. And you're assuming his average won't regress to historical trends. Plus Santana gives you multi-position eligibility.

Headley, and its really not all that close.
Santana is a nice player, but he shouldn't be going for more then 15-20$. Headley will likely command ~$30 at least.
Even a 20 HR/15 SB campaign from Headley will make his $4 price tag a steal... Santana is likely to justify a $10 price tag imo.
