The game between the Pacers and Bulls has been postponed due to a blizzard.
The Pacers said they would reschedule the game and announce the date at a later time. If you have any Pacers or Bulls in your lineup, make sure you take them out for the night.

Makes absolutely no sense. Only logical reason I can think of is so it makes it more like fantasy football where the casual players only really need to check their teams once a week, but if you're a diehard fantasy player I don't know why anyone would prefer weekly to daily.

I ran my one league we've been doing for 10 years like that one year. The reason being that 7/12 of us were on our clinical rotations for our docs which took up about 70-80 hours a week, while the other 5 were working and had a ton of extra time on their hands. We locked the line-ups Monday and did weekly waiver claims with bidding. It made the league alot less fun and I'd never do it other wise but it did the job to kind of level the playing field. Not sure if anyone cares but just thought I'd throw it out there lol.

I can give another logical reason. Not all fantasy players are from USA, so some of us are in disadvantage, because of different time zones, so there's no way we can make any last minute changes for most games. It's 17 past midnight right now where I'm from, so for our leagues it's only fair to lock the league early to give everyone equal opoortunities.

But I think I am speaking for most of the people here, that we don't want everyone to have equal opportunities. Lol.
Everyone here in this forum wants an edge in their league. That's why most of us are here to read injury reports, trade rumors, and get feedback on certain players.
Money is usually on the line. Buy-ins could range from 100 to 500 or even 1000 each. We play to win, not play to give everyone the same opportunity.

I totally agree when it's a matter of putting in the extra work, but like I said, 7/12 of us were locked in a hospital 70-80 hours a week with no internet access and the other 5/12 were working regular or even part-time jobs and had nothing but free time - there was just something that seemed inherently unfair about that since there always is big $$ on the line in that league where as the commissioner I felt I needed to level the playing field (it didn't hurt that I was 1 of the 7 haha!!). Anyway, it did work in leveling the playing field and honestly the secret bidding for FA's once a week became a fun, strategic thing ($100 to start season, 1 manager got $10/week for winning the weekly prop bet) that we kept it for guys who haven't cleared waivers yet (we have a week long waiver period to prevent quick add/drops) but other than that it was something only done out of circumstance and I wouldn't do it again unless absolutely necessary.

While I prefer daily lineups, it is just another variation of fantasy basketball. Not much different than weekly games played limits.
It is a pretty competitive league. I think that one appeal is that it forces you to assess how you believe your players will perform based on the opponents they will face that week and whether they are at home or on the road. Those decisions factor into daily lineup leagues but not to the extent they do in weekly leagues.
Typically, you play your studs but you do have to make decisions on guys like Matt Barnes or Spencer Hawes. You also have to make decisions like whether 2 games on the road for Pau Gasol as desirable as 4 games for Andray Blatche? The waiver wire is very active.

A great way to prevent streaming and still use daily lineups is to use a weekly games played limit. In Rotoranker's Rotoworld Championship League, for example, we use a 40 game per week limit. If healthy, our 14 man rosters usually play right around 40 games (usually a little more) so it's not beneficial to drop anybody for waiver wire trash. People only make moves when necessary.
