Listed weights can be deceiving too.

I don't need numbers to tell me Cam looks like a tank on the field ... RG3 looks like a punter with "swag".

* i don't hate RG3, drafted him, totally respect his game. just don't think he's got the build to withstand the beating the redskins system will subject him to.

Bulking up to 220 could help a ton. Oh yeah, and running it less and not fighting for extra yardage like an RB every time he runs might help just a tad too. Absolutely love the guy, as a Baylor Bear grad myself watching his insane talent since he was 18, but I'm all out on RG3 as my QB1 in 2013.

This is what worries me the most. ^

Cam and Kaep both have more lower body mass than RG3 has. They should bulk up his hips and thighs more even if it slows him up a tad. Who cares if he goes from 4.41 to 4.5  40 if it means he's not going to miss tons of games with injury.

Maybe you really do need to be built like Cam Newton to have any hope for longevity as a running QB.

I'm probably not keeping him either and the writing on the wall sure is a buzzkill.
*cough* Kaepernick*cough*

Uh.

I admit to exaggerating in my statement but I've got Kaepernick at 6'4" 230.

http://www.nfl.com/p...2495186/profile

Cam at 6'5" 243

http://www.nfl.com/p...2495455/profile

and RG3 at 6'2" 217

http://www.nfl.com/p...2533033/profile

Throwing all of that out, Kaepernick simply looks more physically sturdy to me than RGIII by quite a bit.

I was agreeing with you, simply mentioning kaepernick as another player built to handle the hits [like cam]

and on that note:

Redskins officials "already are encouraged enough" with Robert Griffin III's (knee) recovery to believe he has a "legitimate chance" to start Week 1.

I'm sure this tidbit is 100% football related and has nothing to do with season ticket renewals/price increases.
I know you were. I was responding to other dude. Kaepernick looks like Aaron Hernandez on Atkins. RG3 looks like Criss Cross growed up.

I'm really pulling for the guy. I hope he proves this week 1 talk true, but I'm feeling very skeptical.

This is the same team that said he was "fine" after his leg looked like it was about to snap off vs the ravens ... then kept him in a playoff game on a field of painted mud until his knee literally gave up and collapsed.

I'll listen to them when I see him running around in preseason action. I highly doubt he is back for week 1, but they'd probably be dumb enough to start him week 1 at less than 100%.

Dr. James Andrews says Robert Griffin III (knee surgery) is "way ahead of schedule" in his recovery, and that the Redskins sometimes need to "hold him back."

"We’ve got him well on his way," Andrews said. "He’s an unbelievable athlete, as you well know. His recovery is way ahead of schedule so far. We don’t have to do much but try to hold him back, if you want to know the truth." Griffin has pledged not to "compromise" his career by rushing to match Adrian Peterson's timetable, but at least so far, he's matching it anyway. With Griffin still in the embryonic stages of recovery and Week 1 nearly seven months away, it remains too early to speculate on a concrete return date.

So . . .

. . . guaranteed MVP, right?

I love players like RG3 because I'll never have to make a decision on him. The NFL hype machine has assured  that he will be picked long before I would even consider him.

According to Yahoo Sports, "those close" to Robert Griffin III believe the Redskins and others around Griffin are placing "undue pressure" on RG3 to "return too quickly" from his ACL and LCL tears.

They believe Griffin is at risk of reinjury. Redskins team Dr. James Andrews has publicly deemed RG3 "way ahead of schedule," and Griffin is starring in an Adidas ad campaign entitled "All in for Week 1." Said one source, "It's been like six weeks; what are we doing this for? He's not running yet. (Playing in Week 1) is ridiculous to talk about." Added another person close to Griffin, "I don't understand why we're talking about how close he is to playing or not right now. Let him just get better; there's a long way to go." It's an obvious fantasy situation to track.

Why learn from your mistakes when you can keep having fun making the same ones over and over again? Just tape it up he'll be fine.

No doubt he'll be out there week 1.

No doubt he'll be out of the league in 3 years. This franchise is such a joke.

Skins fan here & I couldn't agree more.  Between Snyder & the Shanahans & was worried they would ruin RG3 (who is impossible not to love & pull for as a player & human being).  I hope I'm wrong.

I'm a Giants fan and I love RG3. There's no reason to dislike his game and he comes off as a "good guy" from what I've seen. Very easy to root for, despite playing for a division rival.

Snyder is so desperate for a winner (and increasing profits) I have no doubt they will continue to subject RG3 to the weekly beatings he took his rookie year and force him out there as soon as possible. Not an ideal situation for an undersized running QB with multiple knee reconstructions.

That play vs the Steelers where they sent him out on a deep route/trick play to get layed out by a safety (I believe his first game cominf back from a concussion) showed me all I need to know about this team. He's their 1 reason for hope over the last decade and they are going to run him into the ground.

Drafting Cousins was probably the smartest dumb move this franchise has made in awhile.

Didn't they already lose this fight? Just like Snyder to attempt to lawyer his way out of something like this.

I have a confession, if I wasn't a born and bred Vikes fan I would probably be a Redskins fan (lived in D.C. for 10 years) but Snyder would make it an exercise in masochism. Such a great team/franchise in the past, just been totally ruined over the last decade.

Basically they broke the rules, got caught, fought it, lost, cried about it, now don't want to deal with it.

Wow! Really? Are you two gonna get all misty on me? I'm not rooting for the guy to be hurt, but if they continue to mismanage him and it reduces his effectiveness would it break my heart? No. Oh and by the way, nice gross generalization regarding Philly fans. Stay classy

Not getting "misty" just think that people that wish harm on other people for the sake of a sports rooting interest lack class.
