What do we do with McDonald this year? After such a promising first half last year that made people think he was finally putting it all together, McDonald had a complete collapse in the second half before eventually losing his rotation spot in September. What can we expecct out of McDonald this year? Can he bring back the first half numbers or will his underwhelming second half production carry over?

When he was good, he was very, very good, but when he was bad he was horrid.  I need to see some of the good before I'll welcome James back.

I honestly don't know what to make of McDonald this year... his numbers were so good first half and it looked like everything finally clicked with him. If people get scared because of his second half and his value drops I would take him late.

I'll put him on my watch list if he doesn't get drafted but that's about it.

I will never draft Francisco Liriano ever again.

there's no mystery here. he is who he is ... up and down, a useful tease ...  if it's not an NL only leage or a 14+ mixed league, i'll only watch him for spot starts, maybe ride a hot stretch or two.

Due to his potential upside, I think he's worth a late round pick just to see what he does in his first few starts.

I mean he has only two full seasons as a starter.. I don't think you can just say he is who is at this point. That said he's a fringe starter in 12 team mixed, but I wouldn't completely rule him out for putting together a useful season.

Wood owned Pitt last year too, didn't think he'd do it again, l thought wrong
drafed Mac very late (think my Mr Irrelevant) as a pure upside play, didn't think his first half last year was totally a fluke, his 2nd half meltdown seemed mental as much as anything- will see, nice start to year, if it doesn't pan out easy come easy go

J Mac will be a solid, if not unspectacular, back-end fantasy starter.  He's very useful in the right matchups.

You ride this train until around the ASB and then you get the hell off.  It's a great ride while it lasts.

McDonald's projected schedule looks rough early on. Gets better in May (but by then the rotation could get moved around).

April - @Ari, STL, ATL, @Phi, @Mil

May - SEA, @Nym, HOU, CHC, @Det

He's got some good stuff... but I'd have a hard time starting him in any of those starts in April....

What a tool.   Can't make up his mind if he wants to be a MLB pitcher or work in a 7-11.  Could not locate anything tonight and was damn lucky Goldy hit that ball right at Alvarez.  Just an absolute joke to come out ill prepared like this after a solid outing last week.
