The concern for Roberts even if he can remain healthy, something he hasn't been able to do in 4 years, is what kind of value can he give now on the base paths. With Mclouth seemingly filling the leadoff role and Machado having an outstanding season in the 2 hole, it would appear that Roberts will be hitting 8/9th in the lineup. Also, a lot of his value came from stealing bases, but you have to think that the days of him running crazy on the base paths are over. If he gives you a functional average (let's say .285), he won't be scoring tons of runs like he did in his prime. Couple that with single digit SBs and he'd have to hit for some pop to make it worth it in standard size leagues. In deep leagues or AL only leagues, managers probably want to at least take note, but in a standard 10-12 teamer, it may be best to wait and see what he can give......if anything.
