poor guy. His wife talked about how he was a shell of his former self and would sit in the dark just staring at nothing. Now that he recoverd from the concussion, he gets injured again. this guy used to be an elite 2nd baseman

Wasn't that due to the extreme effects of his concussion that meant he couldnt really be aroudn bright light? I thought I read he was more susceptible to concussions and suffered worse effects than most people would. Certain people are more sensitive.

Either way i agree it's sad to see this guy get hurt again.

Having surgery tomorrow and is out for 2 months. If he wants to continue his career, it will have to be somewhere else. I can't imagine the O's welcoming him back when he probably hasn't played 50 games over the past 3 years.

What do you mean, he's still on the O's roster this year. If he makes it back from the hamstring surgery why wouldn't they at least play him a few games? I agree he's not likely to have any role and I don't think he's going to make it back on the field, but they're still running Casilla/O'Flaherty out there, so unless they make a trade, Roberts could theoretically still be in the mix. Obviously has no fantasy value, and it's such a shame...seeing his photo he's got the gray beard going a bit, I think he should hang it up. This would seem to be his last comeback shot.

I mean I don't see him coming back this year, and then either getting cut/not brought back (not sure about his contract).

His contract clearly states that he will forever to be injured.
