Colangelo said he has the green light to spend. They'll be in the luxury tax by next season IMO. No way they'll be players on Josh Smith, but if they can pick up a semi-elite big and some cheap shooters they can be pretty good. I personally like the trade, minus the huge salary cap hit the Raptors take with Gay.
agree about defense, you're forgetting about ross. next time you watch them play, pay attention to ross. he's still developing but plays some pretty damn good defense against shooting guards.

This is really going to be a team to be reckoned with in a year or 2 if they can add some shooters and rid themselves of bargs

Maybe they view Ross as a trade asset? Don't know....I like Rose much more then Derozan (potential-wise) but it's going to be hard to ship him with his contract. Bargs is owed another 11 mill for the next 2 seasons, his contract is also difficult to say the least.

but yeah, they look pretty darn good defensively. I'm a raptors fan and have been calling them the craptors for years. If they ship Bargs and get a decent asset, they really have potential to be a top 4-5 seed in the east.

Just take out the word "Gay" and your poem rhymes.

Gay looks darn good in a raptors uniform. He's definitely number one option on this team and he makes them A LOT better. Do I think he's worth 20 mill? No. But his value to this team will be pretty good.

God if they can trade him for a bag of peanuts, then BC should pull the trigger.

Yeah you look at the clippers since Paul went down...they are barely playing .500 ball compared to their overall record.
Just goes to show what an MVP caliber season Paul is having.
That starting line up:
Pg- Lowry
Sg- DD
sf- Gay
Pf- Amif
C-Jonas
Looks very solid...I'd say a 5 or 6th seed upside in the East for future seasons.

Like was said in the very first post I really like this newly assembled team, luxury tax related stuff aside. Lowry, Derozan, Gay, Amir, Val with that young solid bench just seems like a team that can compete.
PG: Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Avery Bradley
SG: Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Tyreke Evans
SF: Andrei Kirilenko, Donatas Motiejunas
PF: Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol
C: Al Horford, Kevin Garnett

I lost a few brain cells reading this.
PG: Kyrie Irving, Jrue Holiday, Grievis Vasquez, Mike James
SG: Bradley Beal, Arron Afflalo
SF: Danny Green, Evan Turner
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, Anthony Davis, Nene, Josh McRoberts, Andre Drummond
C: Greg Monroe, Jermaine O'Neal, Brandan Wright
