I wouldn't really mind if it would mean widening the hash marks to something that makes sense.

Why not just blindfold DBs and make LBs play with their hands tied behind their back while we're at it?
Goodell, unde the guise of "safety", is ruining this sport.

Now give NFL athletes more room to build up speed for the big hit ... what a joke. Oh, don't forget to make sure you penalize them for actually playing a physical game with physicality too. Let's keep pretending we can make a game predicated on violence "safe". Honestly, I hate Roger Goodell.

* apologies all around for that video's worst music in the history of bad rap overlaying youtube highlights. i didn't pick the song, but i still feel horrible about it.

I think they should just save everyone's time and make the NFL two hand touch.  Why drag this out for years on years, lets cut straight to the chase.

2 hand touch is too dangerous. What if a guy goes for the tag and hyperextends his elbow? One must also factor in players that do not properly cut their nails. This could literally lead to 100s of band-aids being used per season to combat the potential skin lesions. Don't even get me started on the infections that could soon develop.

I'm thinking flag football, with velvet strips as flags - soft to the touch and swaggg to the max.

I also propose we keep the probowl, only the entire league in invited. We can do this with the money saved from canceling the super bowl. the super bowl is mean and excludes 30 teams. everyone deserves a trophy.

Flag Football is too tough because someone could be run into while trying to grab the flag.  At least in two hand touch you can brace yourself but your points are very well taken and valid so the next step would be to just calling tag.

Basically the new rules of the NFL will be whenever a defender is within 2 yards of an offensive ball carrier they can yell TAG!!! and that will end the play.  As for the offensive and defensive line, as soon as the ball is snapped they will immediately go into a single elimination game of rock, paper, scissors.

If the offensive player wins than that defensive player is rendered incapacitated for that play.  If the defensive player wins he can rush the QB following the same "TAG" rules as other defensive players.

Is life-sized electric football feasible?

Just lay the players on a vibrating board ... It'll be like a 100 yard massage to the endzone.

Nevermind I didn't account for the potential nausea and negative impact this format would have on ppr leagues.

I give up, let's all just watch American Gladiator re-runs ... In 3D
