With the likelihood of Millsap or Jefferson being traded, Favors could be big second half.

Also, GSW have a 3, 3, 3 playoffs schedule, vs the 4, 4, 4 of Utah.

Should I pull the trigger?

I'll say no, you should not.

It's very likely that Utah moves a big man but it is far from a certainty. Every February we hear about these guys that are definitely going to be moved, only to see things fall through by the deadline.

If Favors gets big minutes, he'll produce nice numbers but Bogut's starting job is secure and he will eventually round back into form. Favors could have the higher ceiling here but Bogut is the much safer play. I'm not taking a gamble on giving up Bogut because of a trade that MIGHT happen.

I wouldn't call a guy on a 25 minute restriction, back to back game restriction, and the injury history Bogut has, "safer play".  Favors is in limited minutes is producing more than Bogut in limited minutes already.  It would defy all logic for Utah to not trade (lose for nothing) Al or Millsap given that they aren't going to be able to afford them both in free agency this offseason.

Bogut's minutes are limited because he is returning from injury. Favors is limited because there are better guys ahead of him. There is a difference and, like I said, a trade is not guaranteed.

So, yeah, I do consider Bogut a safer play. His minutes are promised to increase. Favors' aren't.

I won't list the history of trades that were a "lock" to happen and ultimately didn't. A Utah trade is not set in stone.

I see what you're saying and that's fair.  There's not 100% certainty that a trade will happen.

If someone wanted to bet on odds that Utah will make a trade, though, odds are they will.

I would make that trade. I think Al Jefferson will most likely be dealt by the trade deadline leaving a lot of minutes open for Favors. He's got huge upside. Bogut is simply too injury prone to trust.
