Whats the deal with this guy? Does the trade help him or hurt him? I am rooting for this dude to be successful. Any thoughts?

someone no one is looking at... he's pretty much guaranteed a rotation slot ... he's ok... decent skills, throws hard, but doesn't k a lotta guys, good gb rate, kept a low hr/fb last year

I think he is just an mediocre fantasy pitcher. In an NL-only he can be valuable during stretches, but I would only really want to stream him in a mixed.

Not much to see here. He's going to get extremely little run support on that team. He's not going to cross double digits in wins. He may put up respectable ERA/Whip numbers, but his value is going to be greatly diminished because of the lack of wins.

At best he is a young innings eater type on a bad team, look at his ML stats, not much upside here.

He passes the eye test. He throws hard with movement, almost too much movement sometimes. For some reason I keep wanting to compare him to Homer Bailey and we all know it took Homer awhile to have big league success even though he has great stuff.

I'm not reading much hype on this guy since the trade from LAD to MIA.

I really do like his upside and think he could be a good last pick in your fantasy draft.

Is anyone else high on him?

Fantasy boner? Lol

But as for eovaldi I think he can be a solid sleeper in deep leagues if he can improve his k rate. Same goes for Turner/alvarez

He has that ummm... upside! Ha!

Here are the last 3 rotoworld blurbs!

Nathan Eovaldi notched a rare spring training complete game as the Marlins beat the Twins 6-2 in five innings Monday.

Nathan Eovaldi held the Braves to one run while striking out four over five innings Wednesday.

Nathan Eovaldi pitched a pair of hitless innings and struck out three in the Marlins' 5-1 win over the Nationals on Wednesday.

He had pretty bad walk rates in the minors with mediocre K rates. Put him on a team that is going to be awful and I don't see much hope for mixed league value. Maybe NL only. Throws hard with a nice slider but his change up sucks. That will probably be the key to his eventual development.

Surprised there has been nothing about him here since Spring Training. I don't have him on my team, but I'm trying to help others with this one. If you're in a deep league, I think he's definitely worthy of a pickup. This guy ranks right up there in terms of velocity and he's come out throwing strikes this year in his first two starts.

He looks like a boss today and getting a lot of swinging strikes against a Giants lineup that is near the bottom of MLB in strikeouts.

Has he developed his breaking stuff? Fastball velocity has been there in his years past.

His breaking stuff is not all that good imo, but he's throwing even harder this year. He's hit 99 plenty of times in his two starts. The average of his fastball in his start in Arizona was 97 (3 mph more than average of past couple of years), and he can't be too far behind that today.

Always loved his stuff. Its just a matter of him learning how to pitch before he becomes a very good pitcher. I'm sure there will still be plenty of blowups this year though

Hard not to like a pitcher who throws 99 MPH. Why does that not translate to strikeouts? Is his slider that bad?

It's mostly location, both with the fastball and slider. Just like most young fireballers, it's the fine-tuning that separates minor league success from major league results. He seems to have taken a step forward this year by limiting the walks and hard-hit balls, but he won't reach that next level until he can hit his spots better which will up the K-rate.

Streamer? Never seen him pitch before.
