Bowe is back in Kansas City. Andy Reid and Alex Smith are in town. What is your outlook for this guy?

I like it...could be a solid WR2 in, especially in PPR leagues.

We all know Reid, he'll probably let Smith throw 40 times a game and he's somewhat competent.

Maybe Crabtree value but more upside?

bowe has performed with worse QBs ... i think the offense could actually be pretty good this year.

i love charles this year and bowe should be a good value at wr.

Different coach, different system. Andy Reid loves to throw the football. Bowe is their clear #1 guy and is very talented. He could really produce as the lead WR in Reid's WC offense. He will probably come cheap too. WR2 #'s at a WR3 price.

Yeah, I've never been a big fan of Bowe for fantasy purposes (anyone attached to KC seemed doomed as far as potential fantasy upside).

Bowe's value in fantasy will be just that - getting him in later rounds, and hopefully he outperforms expectations with the regime change.

I think the best you can really hope for is a Reggie Wayne 2012 sort of season in 2013 for Bowe:

Mark my words: Alex Smith will not be a good enough QB to take advantage of Bowe's talent.

He'll be a streaky WR2 at best...Love Bowe as a player, just not as a fantasy player.

Disagree - Cassel put up 3,100 yd & 27 TD for Bowe's 2010 15 TD career year. Smith will greatly exceed the yardage but will most likely throw under 27 TD. I'm not saying that Smith is great by any means but he should be better than Cassel while QB'ing in Andy Reid's WC system. Do not underestimate that Reid loves to throw the ball in the red zone. 1,000+ yd and 10 TD seems like a very reasonable estimate for Bowe. Very solid WR2 #'s.

You may be right, but for me,there are to many good WR2 options available to risk an early pick on a headcase receiver with a medioce QB who has already shown an aversion to throwing to his receivers.

Bowe is capable of those numbers, but my WR2 statement was alluding to the fact that he'll likely have to penciled into rosters as a WR2, and based on the fact that Smith is mediocre at best makes me hold back expectations. Reid liked to throw it a ton last year too, but it doesn't mean he'll have the players to achieve what he wants to do.

If you believe in Alex Smith, go for it, I just don't, and there are several WR's i like over Bowe at the time he'll be getting drafted. Bowe's yards could find decent production, but Smith won't be doing him any favors for his TD totals. Too many things inhibiting Bowe. He's not on my list of targets.

Never been a Bowe fan but a new QB and a pass happy coach can't hurt his value. No way I see him with Crabtree upside ...maybe Wayne but tough to say. He should be the go to guy in the offense so certainly gives him potential. Just feel he will find a way to underachieve like he has for much of his career.

He has 3 things going for him:
1. Target hog.
2. Main (by far) passing game option.
3. Can beat double teams.
4. QB upgrade (however slight it's still an upgrade).

The only thing I'm worried about is if they can get Smith to throw it to him despite coverage. Smith has been only been required to be a conservative QB in the past, he's not used to being asked to throw it up to your best WR and let him make a play. If he does then Bowe certainly has WR2 potential.

Reid was stubborn in his pass-happy ways even when Vick was failing last year. And i think next year he'll be stubborn in his pass-happy ways and I think Smith will come up short as well. Alex Smith isn't the QB to lead a pass-first offense, he's just not.

Forced targets are the best argument for Bowe, like I said his yards could be pretty good, but I'm not convinced his QB or this offense is good enough to have a nice TD total, which is what I'm looking most for out of my starting WR's.

I'm fine with you not believing in ASmith and thus downgrading Bowe. I may disagree but it's a reasonable position to take. However, I think you may be thinking too highly of Bowe's current WR ranking as he is somewhere in the 25-30 range. The other guys that are being ranked around him are Jennings, DAlexander, TSmith, Stevie Johnson, ABrown, Nicks, MWallace, TY Hilton, Maclin. Guys being ranked above him include Wayne, James Jones, CShorts, Steve Smith, & Garcon. Personally, I'd rather have him over any of those guys, so I do not think his ADP will be inflated and I think you will make a nice profit on Bowe for 2013.

And I see the sense in grabbing Bowe if you can make him your WR3 of course, what's questionable is shoeing him in as your WR2.

And I'll take Antonio Brown and Nicks over Bowe in a heartbeat, maybe even DX, and Wallace depending on where Wallace goes. I want at least solid QB play from my WR's so their ceiling of production isn't inhibited or limited.

Let's agree to disagree. At this point, my feeling is that Bowe will be a top 20 fantasy standard scoring WR for 2013. I will eat crow in Dec 2013 if I'm wrong.

Let's not forget the biggest thing Dwayne Bowe has going for him:

He's a Kansas City Chef and will be playing from behind 99.6% of the time (if the 2012 stats hold up).

Plus, Jammal Charles will only get 5 carries per game though none of the coaches will know why.

Hail to the Chefs!

Yeah, I'd be okay with taking a shot on him as my WR3 if he fell that far, and I had already stocked up on my other positions. You tend to not want to pay face-value for a player when drafting, you want to pay WR3 draft value for a guy with WR2 upside, for example. Unless you're 100% confident in that player.

If Dwayne Bowe doesn't hit his upside, I don't think he's that much better for the season than Kenny Britt, who will probably be drafted in the same area / a bit later than Bowe.

I like Dwayne Bowe but his situation scares me. Alex Smith is decent, but not the QB I would want throwing to a WR on my fantasy team. I probably won't even have Bowe on my board. I only see myself picking him if he slides a good bit. Even then, I might be hesitant.
