-batting leadoff for a good offense so he could score a lot of runs
-turning 28 this year. i think of 27 as being the average prime year, and he got hurt or had the makings of a possible breakout year.
-they let him run last year, albeit without the greatest success. if he improves his sb rate he could be good for around 20SB's.
-a lock to hit near .300
-other than last year he's been durable looking back to his minors numbers
going out on a limb and saying .300/11hr/87runs/64rbi/23sb
really like him for $1 or the last pick

I'm not too sure he'll be starting all year. Oscar Taveras is the superior talent and will likely force his way up by midseason. If Beltran or Holliday don't get hurt, Jay may find himself out of a job at some point this year.

Pretty solid end gamer in a deeper league. In standard 12 teamers though he seems to be the type of guy that will be on rosters several times a season but always ends up back on the wire. Last season I used him when he played at home, his home/road splits were pretty extreme.

Is he really projected to be leading off though? There's been some chatter and lineup juggling recently. If he doesn't lead-off, his value takes a dip for sure. I've got my eye on him but not sure how much faith I have in him.

I don't believe 10 HRs is conservative considering he had 4 last year in 443 ABs

So it looks like this guy will be the everyday leadoff man for the Cardinals. 13 runs, 8 RBI's and 2 homers. A few stolen bases are sure to come as well. And well, it's the Cardinals so you know the numbers will be there leading off for them.

I'm taking notice too, but I believe Eaton was set to leadoff before the injury, and that outfield is gonna get crowded if everyone is healthy - Eaton, Jay, Ross, Kubel, Parra, Beltran, Holliday, Taveras. Love what he's putting up with the time though
