I know he's supposed to breakout every season and he's left owners high and dry before but he's had a solid ST, shortened his swing, etc..I've read it all. Standard 5x5 money league and the pickings are slim Thoughts?

Thinking about dropping Coco Crisp or Juan Pierre for him. Make that move?

If you can sacrifice the speed, I'd make that move, you know what you're getting with Crisp and Pierre, and there is a chance, even if a small one, that Smoak hits 25-30 home runs this season.

Swap out Pierre or Crisp? I'm a Dodger fan so I've always liked Pierre as a player...

Smoak has always been intriguing because the skill set is there. And if he has tweaked his swing and shortened it up a la Rizzo, he could finally deliver. You could take a chance on him. I think Pierre would be the drop.

But if I were you, I would just wait until Headley or Hanley goes on the DL and then pick him up. There will not be a mad rush to get Smoak. He's definitely post-hype.

He's still sitting on the waiver wire and my league is pretty rough when it comes to grabbing potential high upside guys. I hope they put Chase/Hanley on the DL soon. I want to Smoak this season!

Well with opening day next week, we usually see the DL guys placed there in a flurry of activity over the next few days.

I agree with the other guys, just put your guys on the DL and grab Smoke.  I doubt many are paying attention to him.  Honestly I'm almost in the camp where he's going to have to go on a 2 week tear to convince me to add him, and even then I'll have an itchy trigger finger.

Thoughts on mine? http://forums.rotowo...69#entry3398960
