Stubbs is the definition of a low-risk, high-reward type of player. After his disastrous 2012 season in which Stubbs saw his average fall to .213 he is completely off of everyone's radar. I was able to get him in the final rounds of my 14 team H2H points league where we start 4 OF's.

What're your thoughts on him heading into the 2013 season?

Stubbs is only worth a really late pick in deep leagues. Along with the awful BA (maybe he's made some changes not sure), Progressive field is surprisingly really bad for RH. He's going from a very favorable park to a very bad one for RH power. So I dont think 30 home runs is possible at all. I'd say low 20s is his ceiling, and i'd project him for the teens personally

As far as steals go, he's currently slated to bat 9th. While he has the speed, he's going to have less at bats, in a worse part of a lineup, in a worse park, on a worse team. Even if he bounces back a little, the upside isn't the same. He needs to either really produce early on or hope for some injuries to bat first.

I'm avoiding because there's always someone who's willing to give him a shot. I'd probably prefer Brantley over him

i end up drafting him at a point in drafts where there are no players capable of his upside. i'm not starting him and really don't expect much ... but he's got an elite power/speed combo that is well worth the risk late in deep leagues - if he ever learns how to be a complete hitter (i'll settle for a .250 avg ...)

Projected as hitting 9th. Worth a late round gamble, sure, but wouldn't be relying on him.

I'm just glad he's out of the National League so I can't take him in my NL only league this year. Don't fall into the trap. I did every year.

If you are relying on Drew Stubbs in April you might as well starting planning for fantasy football.

As one of 17 fantasy baseball players who owns him, I am glad to see him get 9 hits in the last 3 games. The streak follows an 0 for 73 streak.. I think. I only wish I hadn't missed his first of the 3 in which he homered and stole a base.

Him and Raburn have had a party this week.

Heating up quite nicely. Of course, the average won't last but he's a decent bet for 15 HRs and 30 SBs which isn't too shabby.

Simple.
He oozes upside and is defnitely the guy that will have the monster season once you having decided to give up on him.
I am in the boat with you and need to be holding for that breakout campaign, whether it's this year or 5 years from now... lol

It is do or die. He's almost 30 isn't he?

He has still shown no improvement in consistency. Prolly gonna be one of those guys who slips into PT role once he's past 30.

Doesn't mean you can't ride him during the hot streaks though!

He'll hit 15-20 HR with 30 SB

and destroy you in every other measurable offensive stat.

Yeah back off! Still plenty of time to put up a Trout-esque season in the next year or so ...

Slam and legs! Finally.

He's actually not hitting that terribly but it feels worse than it is cuz he's hitting 9th.
