I thought I'd start off the thread where you never want to see a mention of your player. He was very successful and seemed to set career highs across the board. Is it possible that he's already claimed his first victim?

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Jonny Venters (elbow) did indeed see Dr. James Andrews on Monday.

First of many, I'm sure. We'll see if Jason Motte is the next victim.

Seems like it'd be tough to beat the wing of the house and yacht that he's gotten from Mark Prior over the years.

I wouldnt touch him even he falls to me in Round 10. Very shady and you dont know what names he will throw out there. I would just like to stay away from him and hope my players do the same. :P

He's 70 years old, I don't know how long he can keep going. I'm predicting:

4 Tommy John Surgeries
3 Torn ACL
2 Torn Labrums
2 Shoulder Surgeries
1 Knee Surgery

About a 4th round value.

As a Redskins and RGIII fan, I have read more about Dr. James Andrews than I care to admit.

My question was always ... Dr. James Andrews repairs everyone in sports, what happens when he dies?

Apparently, he no longer does the surgeries, a younger guy does the actual surgery while he oversees. Im sure he has the best practice and hospital with the best surgeons.

If that's the case ... He's like a knuckleballer of surgeons ... and will be able to continue to perform well past his prime. I think you are looking at similar numbers to last year from him.

Don't forget about Dr. Lewis Yocum. He's my sleeper this year. I reached for him in the 7th round last night.

This may be a little out there, but most mocks that I've done have Dr. Andrews as a late first/early second round pick. There are concerns about his age in most circles that I run in, but his ability to consistently produce at an elite level over the years make him a solid foundation to build a franchise around. He's money in the bank.

I think 4/3/2/2/1 seems about right. I think he has upside for TJ's. And as always, he'll post great percentages to go with those counting stats.

Would you still draft him that early in a keeper league?

Does he actually do the surgeries? I would imagine he has several disciples ready to step in for him.

Time to sell high based on name value alone. The guy is old and becoming very senile...really a liability on anyone's team.

SELL SELL SELL.

Absolutely. Position scarcity plus you have to remember, he's been doing this since the 80s and no sign of slow down yet. He's a safe pick.

Hey man even Miguel Cabrera went 0-5 yesterday. It happens. He can be streaky but just have to stick through it. The stats will be there are in the end!
