Indians recalled RHP Corey Kluber from Triple-A Columbus.
The Indians have yet to announce a corresponding roster move. Since Brett Myers was forced to pitch in relief of Carlos Carrasco on Tuesday night, Kluber will make the start against the Yankees on Wednesday. He's likely to head right back down to the minors.

Haha I saw on the Twitter he was starting tonight and wondered when his thread would pop up.

He was better than his 5.14 ERA showed last season and had a solid K-rate of 7.7 last season and was consistently over 9 K/9 in the minors. This shows in his 10.7 swinging strike rate that was top 10 in the AL last season and an average FB velo of 92.6 MPH.

However, his huge hit rate of 35% might be due to consistent hard contact against him.

Basically he can miss bats, but when he makes a mistake it get crushed.

He might be someone to watch for streaming purposes against weaker offences.

Good Luck Corey!

Should we Stream him against Yankees? Why cuz yankees are always bad against new pitchers. Though this lineup is different than regular lineup but still.. What you guys think?

Not with the way they have been hitting the past few games. Cano is on fire right now.

Thanks for the info. Looks like a viable streamer Sunday at home vs Minny for those of us with balown ratios.

Everything but his ERA is legit right now. Thinking about adding him.

Potential breakout (at least for AL only leagues)? Before you laugh, chew on the following:

For all MLB pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched this season, Kluber currently ranks 14th in K/9 (9.36), 16th in K% (25.2%), 9th in xFIP (2.92) and 7th in SIERA (2.89). Those numbers place him in elite company (Darvish, King Felix, Scherzer, Wainwright, etc.).

Kluber's BB% is significantly better than 13 of the 15 pitchers ranked ahead of him in K% -- he's slightly worse than Iwakuma, slightly better than King Felix.

Worth a look in deep formats. What's really holding him back thus far seems to be a .351 BABIP against.

Seems like this guy could be a Morrow clone. Good stuff (not as good as Morrow though), big fastball. Makes enormous mistake pitches that get destroyed. Melts down with men on base.

K's people.

I posted on the Waiver Wire thread. His peripherals and ERA remind me a bit of Marco Estrada early on last year. Any scouting on him or further insight?

Fellas, let's remember that moms are RW posters, too. :) It was funny at the time, but let's move on and avoid further rhetoric that may only serve to incite.

I've had this guy for a while now and used him in every game except vs Detroit (thankfully)... I almost benched him vs Boston but luckily kept him in there. Granted, I play in a VERY deep league with respect to SP... That being said, I like alot of his peripherals and sabremetrics as saywhaaaaat mentioned earlier in this thread. He is worth a shot vs TB this week in my opinion while he is pitching this well.

Anybody like this match-up against the Rays? I see Bruz does.

Velocity up a little...particularly with secondary pitches. Control better. Bourn in center can't hurt. Dunno...could be for real

He's throwing 91-95 consistently.....great control too. Striking guys out too. Is he gonna stick after Myers comes back?
