Didn't see a thread for him. Whats his deal?

Big (6'6") RHP, pitched well against Tampa and the White Sox this year. Doesn't seem to walk too many guys...is this a breakout guy?

He's pitching over his head....but I think he'll have a solid year. Probably high 3's ERA and 1.25-1.30 WHIP?

With the glut of injuries I'm dealing with to my pitching staff (Greinke, Weaver, Harrison), I picked him up and am seriously considering starting him next week (two starts against the White Sox and KC)....considering that my other choices are the likes of Gavin Floyd, I think he's got a good shot at blowing up 2-3 categories for me next week <_<

I'm thinking the same thing about his two starts next week, especially if he pitches well against Boston today. Don't have eyour injury problems but James McDonald and Dan Haren have been members of my staff this year! LOL!

21mph winds out to RF tonight, I'm sitting him.

Not sure he goes twice next week, he starts on Tuesday, but if they skip Kluber with a day off on Thursday, he'll get 2, otherwise, he'll only get 1

Very solid pitcher as a matchup play. Sunday's start vs Det will be a huge test for him.

Average K ratios and he has overachieved so far (tEra, Siera, Fip, xFip way over his Era)
Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7......

My roster is riddled with these guys....McAllister, Slowey, Tepesch, Colon, etc. All threads point to the same opinion...they are overachieving at this point in the season, and that gives me a sick feeling for the rest of the season as I try and guess matchups.

Definitely not a strikeout guy, but here's highlights from last night's outings if you want to make your own judgments.

I think you will be surprised by at least one of them. I think McAllister actually will have success this year. The success might not really be great for fantasy due to his lack of Ks, but I think we could see an ERA in the mid 3's with an above average whip and above average win totals.

The lack of Ks means more balls in play, and a worse WHIP. I think McAllister is the worst one of those 4.

I think we'll see the K's soon....dude posted a 7.9 K rate last year. I can see him as a low-mid 7's kind of guy. 150-160 K's in 200 innings?

Doesn't have his best stuff today, but just got out of a bases loaded jam with one out. Popped up Cabrera then struck out Fielder. Still like what I'm seeing from him today. Definitely not elite, but he's a serviceable fantasy starter if you need one.

He's pretty average. He was a former Yankee farmhand. Always gave up a ton of hits at every level. Never walked many guys and was always in the 7s with K/9 but he doesn't miss enough bags to trust in the bigs. He's had a really god run though.

Remember -- even Aaron Small had a stretch where he went 10-0 with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.2 WHIP. Aaron Small.

Not saying Z-Mac is Aaron Small but the Yankees do not have a good history bringing up young pitchers and this guy was a mediocre Yankees pitching prospect and has put up mediocre peripherals throughout.

I'll agree, he's average, just think he should be owned in more leagues than he is.

I don't know. I mean, would you pick up a mediocre guy off the wire and run him out there without concern that you will bite the regression bullet? With all these guys (Slowey, Z-Mac level guys) you know regression is coming hard. If you miss their hot streak you're pretty much just the punching bag for your ratios being blown up.

Have you watched him pitch or you just looking at his career numbers? I don't think he's gonna regress all that much, pitchers do get better and he looks solid this year. He's holding his own versus one of the best lineups in the league right now.
