I actually like Leshoure more than most people. He has very little big play ability, but he can be a modestly productive fantasy player if given significant touches. He posted double-digit fantasy points for standard leagues in 6 of the final 9 games last season.

If you're looking to add backfield depth late in your draft (and frankly, why wouldn't you be?) and Leshoure is available, he might be worth taking a chance on.

If Bush goes down (certainly not an unreasonable proposition), Leshoure will likely be a very startable commodity in competitive leagues. If Bush remains healthy, Leshoure will likely only be startable in desperate bye week and injury replacement situations but I still think he'll play a role in Detroit's offense.

I feel like he and Reggie Bush will be splitting the carries pretty evenly with Bush getting all of the passing down work.

One thing to note is Reggie Bush's injury history. I know that he was pretty healthy while in Miami, but he was playing on grass. He blamed all of the injuries in NO on the turf. Just something to note.

It seems that the Lions are intent on using Leshoure in the same role he was in last year, probably to the detriment of Bell, who has already volunteered for return duty, probably seeing the writing on the wall. As to Leshoure possibly breaking out, it's going to depend on whether or not what we saw last year was who Leshoure really is or if he was truly missing some burst and explosion coming back from the Achilles injury. If he does show that he regained some lost explosiveness that was missing from last year he could have some nice upside and value as a late round pick up.

I actually see Bell's 2012 role being usurped entirely by Bush.

I'm going to predict that if Bush plays in 15-16 games Leshoure might not get much over 100 carries this season.
___________________________________________________________

Mikel Leshoure faced eight defenders in the box less often than any other running back last season.
Leshoure saw a stacked box just 6.05 percent of the time, yet still averaged a paltry 3.71 YPC. It's a scary number that reaffirms Leshoure's best role is as a short-yardage pounder. That's what he'll be this season as Reggie Bush was signed to jump-start the Lions' running game as the feature back.

So you're thinking that Leshoure is good for like 6 carries a game? I think he'll see at least a third of the series.

People might be setting somewhat unreasonable expectations for Bush this season.

DET is only going to run the ball maybe 20x/game anyways so yes, maybe 6-8 carries.

I stand corrected, they rushed the ball 391 times last season, which will probably not increase so let's say Bush gets only 200 carries, that leaves another 200 to essentially divide between Leshoure and Bell. The coaching staff still likes Bell enough to give him 50-60 carries so you're still at around 150 max for Leshoure which is 9.3/game.

However, in an explosive offense 9/game assuming GL touches could make him worth a look in td heavy leagues and maybe even deep standard leagues as a flex option.

9 CPG is a lot more than 6, but you're mistake is thinking that Leshoure and Bell will share a role. They play polar roles. Bell and Bush play identical roles, therfore Bell figures to vanish from the gameplan until the inevitable Bush injury.

Bell had almost 90 carries last season along with his 56 catches so yes the catches will totally evaporate with Bush in town. Do you really think he's not going to get 50 carries for a whole season though?

I'd bet a lot of money right now that if Bush is healthy for the season, Leshoure will not get above 150 and probably more in the 130 range but hey like I said if he gets 90% of the GL carries he could be decent value in some leagues.

If you're counting on Bush getting hurt ***INJURY PRONE ALERT!!!!*** then Leshoure might have even more value if you can get him in the 9th round or later because those carrries have to go somewhere.

Umm, no. Not at all. Did you happen to watch the Cardinals or Jets at all last season?
