After an abysmal 3-year stint with the Mets, Bay is now seemingly rejuvenated as a Mariner. He won't revert to his pre-2010 form, but could be a serviceable deep league/AL-only OF. Currently on 6-game hitting streak, going 9/20 1 HR 4 Runs 6 RBIs. Small sample size, 21.4 LD% with a .350 BABIP though. He's been hitting in the fifth spot, which could be a decent position for RBIs; runs might be low. Who knows when he will stop hitting, but he looks decent so far.
I drafted him real late in my AL-Only league, we roster 40 players. And I mainly drafted him in case, for some reason, the Mariners decided to platoon Saunders with Jason Bay. So Bay filled in for my lineup when Saunders got hurt. Bay will play until he stops hitting, which could be today...but when he reverts back to normal, I don't think he plays very often. Another plus for him is that Gutierrez is on the DL and his defense is better than Ibanez or Morse in left. So basically until Gutierrez comes back, all he has to do is outhit Endy Chavez to see plenty of at-bats. After that, it's up in the air.
But yeh, hes only worth a look in deep/AL-Only leagues right now.
