No.  He will back up Shoppach.  Just a placeholder until Mike Bustnino is ready to come up and be the next Mariners hitting prospect bust.

He's got some defensive upside down the line as far as real life baseball is concerned, but Sucre is probably not someone you want to pay attention to for fantasy purposes.

Who was the last good RHH for the Mariners since SAFECO opened? A-Rod or Edgar Martinez? Roided up Bret Boone? Adrian Beltre has been a dominant major league hitter going back to his final season as a Dodger... with the exception of every year he spent in Seattle. The place is death for RHHs.

Sucre's not even available on Yahoo, predictably. Nothing to see here, but the real consensus from the fantasy community, and I agree, is this further condemns Seattle's ability to develop young hitters. Aside from Kyle Seager, they haven't had a single guy pan out in recent memory. One would have to imagine highly touted guys  like Zunino and Nick Franklin are going to have to rise above the organizational mess to become big league mainstays.

Doesn't 'sucre' mean 'sweet' in Spanish?   hahahah  Sweet Jesus!
What is both surprising and delightful is that spectators are allowed, and even expected, to join in the vocal part of the game.... There is no reason why the field should not try to put the batsman off his stroke at the critical moment by neatly timed disparagements of his wife's fidelity and his mother's respectability. ~George Bernard Shaw
