Ruf is a candidate to receive a call-up this weekend, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

I am not seeing this being reported anywhere else right now and it contrasts with some comments that Amaro made a few days ago, but if Ruf does the get call up, he could be an impact in fantasy if he gets regular ABs. Again, he led the minors in HRs last year with 38 and while his K% has gone up following a move to AAA in 2013, he has hit a little better in May.
No one cares about my teams...

he can only get regular at bats if howard goes on the d.l.

they are so unwilling to try domonic brown in right for fear that he'll suck and it will mess him up at the plate, that they are putting delmon young out to right field on a regular basis despite the fact that he cant move...compare that with ben revere having the worst throwing arm ive ever seen, and you've got a horrible defensive outfield before you even think about adding a first baseman into the mix.

Its almost embarrassing to watch him throw. I don't think its time for Ruf yet

Ruf got called up with Howard going on the DL and could be more if he decides to get surgery. Will Ruf get full playing time? Nix is starting today and I could see Mayberry handle 1st as well.

Yeah, because another busted up old vet is exactly what a non-playoff team needs.

The Phils have more incentive to play Ruf and see what they have in him. Should they view him as a DH he could always be traded to the AL. If he sticks, he should be a solid source of power though his average won't be pretty. In any case, very excited to see what he can do if the playing time is there.

Very disappointed I didnt get this guy today. Hasn't had one of his hot streaks yet this season and I could easily see him getting hot with everyday at bats while Howard is out. Can't find his power on waiver wires in any of my leagues.

Yup, I added him, but I had to DL Konerko to do it. Kind of ironic. That shows how bad it has become for me. Sad to think that I will do next.

Has only OF eligibility with ESPN. His power numbers look way down compared to last year, huh?

Current BABIP at 1.000. Do we think that'll go down?

Thoughts on ROS if Howard is out? Will he settle in higher than 7th in the order?
.270/15 HRs reasonable?

I think Duda is a pretty reasonable comparison.  I'd think his batting average will be a tad higher though.  .250/12/35 second half if he plays everyday.

Well, opportunity has presented itself. Too early to get into stats on what he's done thus far, nor make any kind of projections IMO. Given that Howard will miss 6-8 weeks and where the Philies stand for the playoffs, he SHOULD get plenty of starts going forward. 2 games with both being good has already relieved some pressure (Ike Davis) unlike a 0-5 start. Production will determine the utilization.
Hey, I grabbed him and will play him depending on my DTD situation. Lets go for the gusto Ruffion.

I don't think there's anyone I would try to sell higher in baseball right now. He has a .529 BABIP and he's got 16 Ks in 41 ABs. That's a 39% K rate. To put it in perspective, Adam Dunn's K rate it 30%. It seems like when he makes contact, he gets a hit, and when he doesn't he strikes out. He's due for some insane regression, and while he's got the upside, I think that we'll soon see him fall back to earth. Obviously he isn't going to stay at hitting .333, but I could see him falling waaaay down to the .250 range. However, I could also see him hitting 10 HR in the second half, so if your team can stomach the average then he's a decent play. If it were me, though, I would be selling right now.
