From rotoworld:

"George Karl will not return to the Nuggets as head coach, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Wojnarowski reports that Karl was "pushing" for a contract extension, and ownership was not prepared to give him one. As a result, Karl will not be brought back for next season. The Nuggets will now go into the offseason having to replace ex-GM Masai Ujiri and Karl. For what it's worth, Karl was Coach of the Year this season."

Where's he going next year?  Clippers perhaps?  Think of the Clippers with a savvy coach.  Could be an interesting squad.

Looks like Javale's going to be unleashed. He'll easily lead the NBA in blocks.

This is the first thing that came to my mind when thinking about the fantasy implications of this move. I wouldn't be surprised at all if one of the reasons behind firing a coach of the year is due to his unwillingness to play McGee.

Reports are now indicating exactly that.  McGee's arrow is definitely pointing up for 13-14.

Karl has fallen on the sword due to the Nuggets being the Hawks of the West (i.e. good team with playoff caliber roster but not championship material).

Because getting rid of Karl is taking this nugget team to the finals.....

They traded away the superstar, gave Karl good players but no Great players, and in the NBA  great players win championships.
