He's on my radar for sure as a late round sleeper pick. The guy can flat out play with injury being the biggest concern.

Stafford has lead the league in passing attempts for 2 straight years and I'm pretty sure he will hit a 3rd with the way that offense is built (lack of a running game and now with the signing of Bush).

Calvin will get his for sure but barring he's on the field, Broyles could make for a nice PPR option.

He won't be "locked in" until Burleson is gone. He's locked in the slot WR position though and should see plenty of targets with Megatron and Bush creating so much space.

"experts" do not exist.

get sunday ticket, think for yourself.

This is the DHB / Hilton situation, just in DET. Burleson is the starter, Broyles will rotate in during 3-wide sets, and also to give Burleson a breather. Eventually he may overtake Burleson as a starter, but with Burleson currently healthy and reliable, it's more of a WR timeshare at the #2 WR spot in DET.

Any one have some data on how often they ran 3 wide sets last year, or perhaps some TC/Preseason info on how often they've lined up in it so far this year?

I also wouldn't be surprised if 6'6" Kris Durham is used in some red zone packages this season. Stafford's former college room mate, he's reportedly improved greatly this offseason at using his size to his advantage. Burleson has been calling him "white Calvin Johnson".

Any of these guys could be very fantasy relevant if you knew that they were going to be getting the majority of the #2 WR targets, but if they rotate them based on the situation, it'll be tough for them to be reliable fantasy producers each week.

isn't anyone concerned about bush's expected 60-70 catches? I'd think many of those would come at the expense of the slot/underneath wr.

I've been bullish on broyles but I think bush's presence caps his upside more significantly than burleson.

This too. Even if Broyles was the clear-cut #2, I think Bush would still cap his ceiling many weeks. I can't make any serious trade offers for Broyles, as much as I love his real-life talent, because his situation on the team makes his ceiling limited most weeks. Could have a 2-catch game one week, and a 7-catch game the next week. No certainty / consistency with projectable targets for him right now.

Bell had 52 receptions
Leshoure had 34 receptions.
Lions had 86 receptions among their RB's last year.
Give Reggie 60, Let bell get another 20 for this year, and we're still looking at a whole lotta passes/yards to go around.

If we assume Calvin gets 1600 yards this year
Let's be generous and give the 'RB' 1000 (Leshoure/Bell combined for 699 last year)
there's still another 2400 yards to give away assuming Stafford maintains his 5k average.

900 for WR2
600 for WR3
500 for TE
400 to the field?

Not sure how the breakdown would go, but my point would be that I don't think Bush will cap the WR2's upside. There's enough to go around in this offense.

Lance Moore continues to produce despite Sproles.

I agree with your assessment except the last comment, Bush is a every down back unlike sproles.

Yeah, but this is still Stafford we're talking about. There's 430 completions and 5,000 yards to go around.

And besides, I don't see Bush doing MUCH more than what the RBs combined for in Detroit last year.

Edit: Just read FFCollusion's post. Yeah, so, what he said.

I love Broyles talent but also concerned about situation. I have the opportunity to deal him for michael floyd out in az in a dynatsy ppr but, hard to pull the trigger.... am I dumb for not doing this one? I really do like Broyles and im old at wr, i think floyd might have supersatr potential while broyles will prob be a consistant but less high celing type player..

I could see Broyles with80 for 800 and 6 td's this year with upside of 90-110 catches, and up to 1300 yards and 10 td over the course of a career which are great #'s, would love him on my team. Albeit Floyd will probably be less consistant I thnk he could turn into a Brandon Marshall type of player which at this point is a no brainer because I personally feel if they both reach their upside I would rather have Marshall than Welker, and then theirs injuries.. But, s---, i dont know, lol, what do you guys think?

Who will have the better fantasy career Floyd or Broyles?

I am a bit. Broyles played exclusively with the second team while Patrick Edwards and Nate Burleseon played with the starters. I'm not sure if the lions are resting him or taking it easy on him but reports did say that Edwards has been receiving a lot of first team reps with Broyles out. They're both similar in physicality and both probably can only play exclusively in the slot.

I think they're bringing him along slowly from the ACL tear, obviously. Don't expect him to be a fantasy factor before Week 9.
