To avoid the Beachy thread becoming a GDT

never start a pitcher fresh off the DL. With TJ surgery it's a no-brainer, who cares how long you held him for!

Well they're swinging at everything in the early going and he's getting hit. Beachy's stuff is looking kind nasty though. If he can just get through this inning I think he'll be alright

nice strikeout to Tulo! Threw some nice pitches there.. I believe he'll be mostly good this season with some occasional hiccups.

Can't wait to see him next season B)

hanger to Rosario. Bad pitch. His offspeed stuff was looking great before that pitch. Standard lack of location for someone coming of TJ...

Getting ahead of batters and by the looks of it you've gotta be encouraged by what you've seen. Hopefully you're not a rookie and didn't start him his first game but he might be worth a start going forward

My boy Simmons is going deep in this game.

I like what I see. Doesn't look bad at all. Just a little rusty. Changeup looks good.

Beachy looks alright to me.  Leaving sone stuff up, but velocity is good and the fastball has life.  He is going to be useful here down the stretch.

Gave a meatball to Cuddy, but in fairness Heyward could have (and should have) made the play on it.

Rockies good hitters are doing just what they should. Beachy is rusty. I'm not worried.

That's a HR from Cuddy @Coors :(  Oh well, I'll take the triple since the ball probably should have been caught..

Tough game for those that started Beachy 1st game back. I don't need to keep repeating never to start a guy off such a long layoff but he's actually looked much better than his line indicates. Promising stuff...

Fairly encouraging actually - bad misplay by Heyward will make the line look worse.  But all in all, stuff is farther along than expected.  And control has also been better than I would have thought.

4 Ks through 3 IP is pretty good, for what it's worth...
