He just keeps proving us wrong. How high do you take him this year with his random sits and his heavily policed minutes?

Your thoughts please...

Loved Duncan last year when he was coming off a hot finish to the 11-12 season and was being criminally underrated in fantasy drafts.  I'm not sure about this year when he's going to be a top 25-30 pick.  Obviously he can outperform that ADP as he was a top 10 player last season but he's another year older (37) and Pop may knock 2-3 min off his reg season minutes average to keep him fresh.  Probably a player that I will pass on this year.

He's much more valuable in Roto imo. I wouldn't touch him in a h2h format.

I love Duncan, but last year's resurgence was truly remarkable to the point now where it is hard to know if that performance is repeatable in 13-14.  Three years ago he went 13.4 pts, 8.9 rebs, and 1.9 blocks.  Two seasons ago he went for 15.4 points 9 rebounds and a career low 1.5 blocks.  Last year, as we all know, he came in at 17.7, 9.9 and almost doubled is blocks from the year before with 2.7per.  His minutes also went up a couple per game from 28 to 30.  I think his numbers this season will look more like 12-13 (maybe 15 and 9) with blocks settling in around the three year average of 1.9.  Still excellent value with commensurate risk.

How far would you let old man Duncan fall in drafts before sniping him? 40s? Solid pick this year but don't think he returns top 20 value.

I am Personally targeting Duncan in the third round.  That is very good value since he was a top 10 player last year in 9cat leagues.

haha why did I draft him?

Slipped so far, couldn't resist. Chest contusion - could that be anything terrible? Game was a blowout, honestly sounds like a precaution. We'll see.

Coach Pop said Duncan caught an elbow and felt pain from his chest up to his neck. Will be checked out tomorrow.

Coach Pop said Duncan caught an elbow and felt pain from his chest up to his neck. Will be checked out tomorrow.

Obviously it could be serious, but keep in mind that even a moderate bruise to the chest is extremely painful. EMTs test unconscious patients by rubbing the sternum because it inflicts intense pain without causing injury. An elbow to that area would almost certainly feel like something shattered, but like any bruise it'll go away in a few days.

I'm optimistic at this point, but checking WW options just in case.

If you put your ear to the railroad tracks, it sounds like it possibly could be a cracked rib

Edit: Or based on the report that came out on Spurs website just 1 minute ago, a chest contusion.

Wow he's actually playing?!? This is mildly surprising. I definitely guessed wrong; makes up for George Hill sitting personally.

I'm going to hope he stays healthy for a few games and then try shipping him for my favorite player: Nikola Vucevic, which is the big man I should've taken in his place :( . Or if Larry Sanders continues to slump (not that 4 blocks is slumping), maybe I can pry him away. Either way, I don't see Duncan staying on my team for too long.
