If Lance Dunbar had to become the starter cause of a season ending injury to Demarco Murray, what could he become? Is he the handcuff (Jerry Jones loves him)? Could he become just as good as Darren Sproles? Same skillset..

I think he could be pretty darn good actually. I'm thinking of a poor man's David Wilson. A very poor man...

I like him as a stash, but he was nicked up in the preseason. I'm interested to see what he may do in the first week.

Despite being hurt this pre-season, and not likely suiting up for Week 1, all signs point to Dunbar being Murray's handcuff when he's healthy. Shouldn't be too long from now. With Murray's track record for health and staying on the field, it would be best to add Dunbar as soon as he's ready to go in the event.

Pretty good preseason. Returns this week as the #2 running back for the cowboys. Supposed to be used in a Sproles fashion.

For the most part he's Murray's handcuff. Very important if you own Murray.

2:14 his Sproles comparison.

I wouldn't say he's Murray's back up, but also a change of pace and third down back. I think because of Sproles, a lot of teams want a RB like that. For hurry up offense and 2 minute drills. It shows how affective those players can be. First name that comes to mind is Vereen.

Sproles gets a lot more run then Dunbar will get. If you think Murray will sit on third downs your crazy.

Dunbar was unable to practice in any capacity last week due to his healing left foot, which was previously enduring a sprain. If he continues to partake in full practice throughout the week, the expectation is for him to serve as the top backup to DeMarco Murray. Barring a setback, Dunbar will do just that.

I have no idea how they are going to use him. But, the coaching staff loves him and Jerry sure does gush about him. Murray has been hurt every year in his pro and collegiate career. Maybe in a few weeks Dunbar carves out a nice role in the offense that is Darren Sproles-esque. Even a DS lite would be a fine flex play. We'll see

When talking about players, I refer to PPR leagues only, unless otherwise stated.

Did Dunbar run as the #2 all pre-season? RW seems pretty confident that he's Murray's handcuff...

He is listed as the number 2 behind Murray on the Cowboys website depth chart.

Big workload for Murray tomorrow. Think he'll handle it? Already had a lotta touches last week. It'll be interesting to see how the Boys use Dunbar tomorrow as well.

I'm really curious how he gets used today as well....I cant see Murray holding up getting 25 touches a game.

The end of the game last week in garbage time Dunbar seemed to split carries with Tanner...should we read into that? RBBC if Murray goes down? Dunbar worth holding on to as a handcuff?

With Murray getting injured yet again, any chance he gets the start if he gets healthy? Randle is eh.

There is no RB that will get 15-20 touches. I expect some form of committee.

I'd roll with Dunbar if healthy, he won the #2 job and offers the most "big play" ability.

Worth a speculative pickup? Saw him fly in the pre-season and jerry loves him, but seems he didnt get any work in weeks 1- 5 before injury. Not sure if worth an add, would be dropping a montee ball type, any signs pointing to a decent usage ?

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Dunbar (hamstring) won't play Sunday against the Eagles, the Dallas Morning News reports. "He won't be available for us Sunday, but is a real weapon for us. We need to get him back," Jones said.
