Come September I think you'll see Xander at SS with Holt / Middlebrooks / Betts rotating in at 3B and LF

Lol yup, 4/11 since the ASB.  Small sample size but he's just under %50 owned in Yahoo, so people are obviously holding out hope, and I imagine he'll be picked up in a hurry if he shows any signs.  I made the add since Tulo is down, but there are others who will come knockin for a SS with upside soon so if you have room to take a flier maybe now is the time?

I'm not saying he hasn't been garbage, but he could definitely turn out to be worth it.

if Bogaerts goes back to SS, does he go back to the type of numbers he was producing earlier in the season as SS?

He's been hitting over .300 the last couple of weeks now so I think moving back to his natural position will only help.

Going from Tulo to this guy has been mind numbing - watching the dude hit almost hurts.

I was hoping the move back to SS could make it at least usable - but he's simply being rostered in redrafts based on name sake.

Since August 1st - 6 for 43, no Rs, no HRs, two doubles, no speed, one BB, 12 Ks, a couple RBIs. Dude very well may be a great player one day, but on this day he's flat out brutal. Overall 78 +wRC, :o

Proof not every blind squirrel can find a nut.

Definitely one of my personal touts that ended up very poorly. Kid was so good through the stretch last season and in the playoffs - outstanding AB's, showed good pop - dude had ice water running through his veins in the post season. I was sold he'd be another kid that developed very quickly.

I know the Red Sox are trying to get him and JBJ to figure it out at the MLB level but he looked mentally smoked, nothing wrong getting the kid some work in the minors where the pressure is off - kid is still only 21 years old which is remarkable. I just don't get the value in having him or JBJ continue to struggle this much night after night.

Dude's approach has absolutely gone in the dumps.  I have him in an OBP keeper and he's been a massive drain on the ol' OBP.  I thought I could at least count on a .340-.360 OBP out of him despite how young he is.

His BB% the last three months: June-2.9%, July-3.6%, August-2.0%.  Yikes.  Jean Segura-esque BB rates.

When I check out his ABs, he's definitely being challenged quite a bit because he's swinging a wet noodle up there.  He's also really expanding against breaking balls.  Sliders and curves are absolutely sodomizing him right now.  Just has no chance against them.  He's rated -9.3 against sliders on Fangraphs, worst by a healthy margin.  Granted, most guys suck at hitting sliders.  But Bogaerts is being fed a steady dose of them.  He's seeing 18.3% sliders this season.  Overall, a rough year for the youngster that has reined in my expectations for the next couple years.  Still think he'll be a stud eventually, but he's just a reminder of how young some of these guys really are.

His plate discipline seems to have completely eroded, and the power has been totally absent for months.

What are you guys doing with Bogaerts in keeper leagues?
How deep/how many keepers necessary to leave him stashed at the end of your bench?

Man, I traded big for this guy at the trade deadline in my deep keeper league. What are the odds this guy is a top 10 SS in 2015? Top 5? Is that asking for a miracle at this point?

I traded him away before the draft, because I thought he couldn't help me this year. I did think he would figure it all out and be an absolute stud by 2015.  However, after watching a lot of ABs this year for him I realize I know nothing about scouting.

hard to believe he is this ... ineffectual. guy is such a waste of space.

what are the possibility he puts together a hot spring just so he can get over-hyped again for 2015 drafts?
