I was just about to start a thread for this one, but you beat me to it.

I think the Sabres won this trade. Vanek is a very good player, but I'd take Moulson, a 1st round pick, and a 2nd round pick over him. Sure both of those picks turn out to be busts, but I'd take my chances with that package over receiving Vanek. Just my opinion though.

Could a Ryan Miller trade be in the works next?
Adam Brown (Fearless)=Hero. May you never be forgotten.

Steep price but as Snow said they have plenty of prospects already so losing a 1st and 2nd doesn't mean as much to a young team like NYI and if Tavares can make Moulson a 30 goal scorer the potential of a Vanek/Tavares combo is off the charts.  Buffalo gets good value for an asset they weren't going to be able to keep  and the Islanders get a stud winger to go with Tavares.   This is a trade that we won't know a winner for a few years to see how the picks pan out but man it's huge.

Moulson already chipping in two goals for his debut. This trade caught me off guard a bit. I was hoping it was Ryan Miller....

We will see how this all pans out over the season.

Moulson aint staying there for too long. This is part of a massive sabre yardsale in progress.
even with the picks... sad days for Buffalo fans.
