Per Rotoworld blurb:

Andrew Hawkins (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.
Hawkins has been out all season with an ankle injury and is currently on short-term injured reserve. He can be added to the active roster at any time over the next three weeks. Hawkins will return to his slot receiver role when healthy and is the second-best option in the passing game behind A.J. Green.

Obviously, you can usually disregard the op-ed part of the player blurbs, but anyone have thoughts on his impending return? I don't get to watch a lot of CIN games - is he really the 2nd best pass catching option behind Green? What does the emergence of Marvin Jones do to Hawkins' outlook? (I'm well aware of Jones' # of snaps played but I'm reading CIN really likes him, and w/ his efficiency coupled with Sanu's INefficiency, that snaps played # should go up, right?)

And, man, CIN sneakily has a lot of weapons now in Green, Jones, Sanu, Hawkins, Eifert, Gresham, Bernard. Congrats Cincy fans.
One for the money, two for the show, three to get funny, go pimp go!

He's quite a weapon in the slot.  However, that's a lot of receivers to share targets.

If the coaches like him more than Jones, they all should be fired.

Jones plays outside receiver.  Hawkins plays only slot.  Sanu plays both outside and slot.  If anyone looses value from Hawkins return it's Sanu.

and Sanu's hurt too so there's no good reason for the Bengals to play him over Hawkins

cincy may get to the point where there are too many weapons to warrant starts. A case of real life football triumphing over fantasy.

Eifert, Gresham, Jones, Hawkins, Green, Sanu.

Sure AJ will probably always get his, but it could get quite murky.

I completely agree. There is no team in the NFL that can support more than 2 WRs and a TE and keep them relevant...... Let the list of those teams that can begin with 1) Denver.

I think either Hawkins is going to do nothing or he's going to cut into M. Jones's fantasy value. I don't think Dalton's streak of success can continue.
My motto for Fantasy Football: Don't get involved in Shanahanigans.

These guys will have way different roles in this offense...even without watching a game you would be able to tell just by their measurables. I would expect to see Hawkins in the slot while Jones overtakes Sanu in 2WR sets.

So, not a part of the offense anymore, or just getting worked back in slowly? Hmm...

I'd say he's just getting back up to speed with the rest of the offense. With atkins going down they've lost a couple big pieces of their defense. Other offenses might be able to put up points meaning that cin. would have match output. Hopefully there's some high scoring games in their future.

He's fun to watch; I had him early last year and nicknamed him Chocolate Thunder because of his similar build to Darrly Dawkins (6'11" 250).

His older brother is Antrell Hawkins who played a while.....so its either Chocolate Thunder, or Little Hawk.
