Yeah when the easier team's players go off against you then you might not think that was such an easy match. I'm not too bothered about who my opponent is in the playoffs. If I don't score well I'm not going anywhere anyway and between the few best teams in the league anything can happen on a week by week basis.
Besides, there's only a few weeks of fantasy football left, why waste a week deliberately losing? It's supposed to be fun.
Wouldn't do it..not because its bad morally (I don't think it is) but you can't gurantee your matchup. Easier matchup via record may not pan out to be best matchup once games start. Your opponets lineups could change drastically in 1 week. Just play it str8 since u locked in already.
It is a money league, and the difference in the two possible opponents is quite big (in my mind):
Team I want to play: Brady, Morris, Tate, Antonio Brown, Bowe, Ivory and John Carleson as TE.
Team I don't want to play: Brees, CJ2K, Donald Brown, Mike Walllace, Alshon Jeffery, Welker and Gonzalez.
This is starting to sound like an AC post, but it's really more the moral of the idea. I like where everyone's head is at though, maybe it will come back to bite me in the a**. In the mean time, I'll start ray rice and t-rich this weekend and let them be the deciding factors.
If throwing your game affects other teams, you definitely shouldn't do it.
agree with this. i was in this position last year and i started my best guys. i just think about how mad i'd be if i missed the playoffs because another owner threw a game. i don't want to do that to another owner.
Yeah what everyone else said. Don't do it. You're just going to really piss someone in the league off, and not even necessarily help your team. You never know with fantasy football. Teams that looks bad on paper go off all the time. You could just as easily screw yourself as help yourself by doing it, but you'll definitely make an enemy in the league.
It's a fair move, but you should be ridiculed by your leaguemates for life. And I wouldn't expect too many fair trade offers next year. Stolen handcuffs in drafts, blocked chances to stream what you might need going down the stretch...I'd make you pay. But fair move.
QB: Ryan Leaf

I can't tell you how many times I've been the #1 seed in the playoffs (not so humblebrag) and lost to a lower seed with a much less formidable lineup (on paper anyway) because they got hot at the right time. The point is, we just finished week 12. We don't really know who is going to catch fire and lead people to championships in weeks 14-16 yet. Don't throw the matchup, it can and will come back to bite you. That team who appears to be scuffling into the playoffs could catch fire and blow you out of the water, and that team your afraid of facing might crap the bed.
