I'm in a league where we can keep one player for the following season, then they can no longer be kept.

My options are:
Montee Ball for a 6th
Zac Stacy for a 17th
Drew Brees for a 3rd

Those are the only three I'd even consider.

If Moreno isn't resigned to Denver next season, Ball automatically catapults into the top 10 and possibly top 5.

Stacy is easily top 10 based on sheer volume. However, he plays in the NFC West and will have to face some of the best defenses (especially against the run) six times next season.

Brees is, well Brees.

Stacy is easily the best value, a 2nd rounder for a 17th. But Ball is very enticing for a 6th considering he could fly up into the 1st if he's hyped up enough. Brees is more of a fall back.

IF Moreno is gone and Ball appears to be the main guy, who would you keep?

I'd keep Stacy. There is less risk of him being bad and you only lose a 17th pick from him. Even if Moreno doesn't resign and Ball becomes a starter, there is a chance he could be as good as stacy and you loose a 6th round for him.

I'd keep Stacy. Even though he gets a high volume of carries, he still had a great YPC. I don't think Montee Ball will ever be anything.

Definitely Stacy. You only lose a 17 round pick.

It's an easy choice in Stacy... it's not even close honestly. Enjoy an amazing year from Zac Stacy in 2014 :)

Keep in mind that Stacy put up great numbers against those tough defenses in 2013. He is nearly matchup proof.

Not Brees, even at 3rd Rd value. With only one keeper per team, there will be few (probably only Peyton) QBs kept. Keep your starting RB in the 17th.

Yeah, Manning was drafted in the 5th last year. The way our keeper system works you can keep the player for the following round the next season. So in other words the person who drafted Manning in the 5th can keep him for a 6th this up coming season. I see him being kept. Other than him all the QBs should be available. Brees for a 3rd would be pretty good value, but realistically he'll be drafted in the 2nd next season in this league (10 teams).

As long as nothing changes in STL in terms of another running back coming into town I plan on keeping Stacy due to the ridiculous value I get to keep him at.

Stacy is the obvious choice....not sure he is the best choice but QBs are devalued due to many good options. Very intrigued by Monte Ball if he becomes the starter there but ya probably gotta make the safe choice with Stacy.

If Moreno doesn't go elsewhere. Keep Stacy.

If Moreno does go elsewhere, it's very close. Gotta love Ball if that's the case, but he's still a risk. And is even more expensive to keep. We're still all banking on Ball developing as a pass blocker and to NOT fumble next year to be that shoe-in for a top10 play we'll all want him to be. Even if Moreno goes, Stacy will be the safer opt and the cheaper and better opt regardless for me

Brees is awesome, but QB is so deep. The fact that you have an RB1 to be kept (or possibly even two if Moreno goes) makes this decision easy for me. There are so many QB1's these days, Keeping a Brees has less value then keeping a safe RB1.

Brees & Rodgers will be kept in leagues. Can't leave them off the list. Brady won't be kept however, due to age and lack of weapons around him. RB's don't last too long these days playing in the league. Once they hit that magical number of 30 years old. Or close to it, it's all down him from there. So play it safe and keep Drew. You won't be disappointed!

Denver might bring back Moreno, and let Decker go. They already got Thomas and Welker at WR. Plus J. Thomas emerging at TE. Plus Knowshon is younger than Eric Decker. Eric wants to be a team's #1 WR and there are plenty of teams out there who lack a top WR. He will get good money too and start some place. But that won't happen till after the super bowl if Denver makes it or not, and the whole off season. Still too early to tell now. Keep Brees and play it safe.

I tend to think that they pay decker and part with Moreno. When you look at the two talent wise, I think Decker is the premiere talent, and overloading Peyton with multiple dependable weapons is the biggest factor in making them true Super Bowl favorites in my opinion.

I don't think Moreno is a very talented back, but he is dependable. Will be some tough decisions for Denver. Will be interesting to see what happens. It's whether they feel more confident in Ball as a starter or Caldwell as a no3. When you think of it like that, they could absorb the Decker loss better, but at the end of the day I'd prioritize my players on talent first and foremost, however. Well see what Denver thinks in the coming months, because I don't think it's very possible to sign both of these guys to what would be pretty fat deals

definitely stacy. A starting RB for that low of a cost has to be kept.

Bump.

Now that Ball appears to be the clear cut starting back and a possible first round pick, who would you keep?

Ball for a 6th? or Stacy for a 17th?

I'm still leaning heavily toward Stacy since it's such an insane value, but Ball for a 6th is a very good value as well. It seems like Stacy is probably more of a sure thing, while Ball presents the most upside.

I'd stick with Stacy. As you said, Stacy has far better value and less risk.

I'd keep Stacy and not really think twice about it. He's a starting RB1 at an absolutely insane value, and with only one keeper per team you'll have plenty of options with all of your early round picks.
