Peyton, Marino, Montanta, Brady, Brees, Young, none are undeafted as starter of their team.

Remember those magic 2.5 games bros?, life was sweet for football both real and fantasy. A Cleveland sports franchise even had hope for brief moment.Poor everything in Cleveland.

Seems like the forgotten man, all the talk of manziel/teddy with the browns. Hoyer is already familiar with the personnel and NFL style play.

Also using Hoyer would free up a spot to draft a top guy like Mattews, Clowney, Barr, or Watkins.

He'll be 29 early into next season.  Had a meager 82.6 rating in those "magic 2.5 games" and is coming off of a season ending knee injury.  It's pretty obvious why they're looking to draft a QB.

If it was the same offensive system, I'd be inclined to just ride Hoyer.  But now that everything will be different, its probably worth drafting a Manziel.

It is a small sample size, but I do lean towards your side, Gains...It looked like Hoyer had what it took. Seemed pretty legit.

I still think they draft a QB in the first though...but if I were GM I'd love to throw Hoyer the keys and pair Joe Thomas with Jake Matthews

Cmon guys lets be real. They arent relying on hoyer to be a franchise qb and are going to try and find a permenant fix at the most important position in the game. Id be absolutely shocked if they didnt go manziel.  Hoyer just wont be relevant at seasons start

known commodity vs highly questionable one (Manziel)

not saying manziel couldn't or will not do good, but he could just as easily be a bust. Last thing browns need it more question marks on their future.

what is wrong with 29?

rodgers to old now?  it is not like hoyer is a 29 near year old rookie like weeden. He has been in the league and was sitting behind brady.

thats not the point at all. If they go with manziel im willing to bet theyll give him on the job training for the first year rendering hoyer useless. Hows he a known commodity after having 2 good games and then blowing his knee out?  Dont get it

multiple year in the NFL,Billy B pay attention to be backups more then anyone else. If hoyer sucked Billy B wouldn't have kept him around that long.

He has NFL experience and did well, he is not known on the level peyton/ryan/cutler is but there are a lot less questions then with manziel who of this year's most question heavy qb.

I never said they wouldn't draft a QB in the first, as I said, I definitely think they will. I was just saying IF it were ME I'd seriously consider trying to roll with Hoyer who's looked good when given the chance. I personally think Houer has something to offer.

They won't though, I agree. I'm still betting that manziel goes to Cleveland.

Dude played in two and a half games!  The sample size is WAY too small to suddenly say he is Cleveland's answer.  Limited experience, new offensive scheme, coming back from a season-ending knee injury.  If two and a half games in a different system is supposed to be the separation point between him and a rookie who would most likely be the face of the franchise, I will take the rookie.

How can people be calling this guy a "known commodity"? Dude may or may not be the real deal. I can't say for sure, but let's keep this in perspective.

He looked great in those TWO games but A LOT of mediocre to bad QBs have looked like All Pros in two game spans.

If Cleveland doesn't draft a QB, I see them bringing in a vet to compete with Hoyer. Maybe someone like Vick but probably more like McCown or Henne. Again, that's only if they choose not to go QB in round one of the draft.

The Browns are expected to pay Brian Hoyer's $250,000 roster bonus on March 15.

It confirms that Hoyer will be back with the Browns next season, likely to compete with a draft pick for the starting job wipe the floor with the foolish mortals that wish to bother him on his path to Football god-ness. His recovery from October ACL surgery is reportedly "going well." Barring any setbacks, Hoyer should be ready for the start of training camp.

good news, back and ready for camp.

Of course they're going to bring him back - he barely makes anything and a $250K bonus is nothing to NFL execs.
