If you wanna set your line-up, be my guest. But when there's a lot of $$ on the line, don't cockblock people still in contention by picking up hot free agents just because you're trying to make your Yahoo profile percentages look good by finishing 9th instead of 10th.

Thank you. Have a nice day.

You think they would care? Competition is competition.
With the first pick in the 2014 NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers choose Mallory Edens

It could be a good idea to lock rosters (next season) on the last day of regular season to counter this. Im going to implement this into my league next year because it just makes too much sense. Real NBA teams cant pick up FA during playoffs, right?

That's actually a brilliant idea (for teams in the consolation bracket)

You go Glen Coco

You think they would care? Competition is competition.

They better start caring before I start going Patrick Beverly on dudes

I agree with the locked rosters idea but then if a player gets injured or you have a bunch of stashes that might not pan out then your stuck. I just recently got burned by the (Consolation Bracket) picking up Sims and Dieng. Like Really?? There is no money after 3rd place....

Yeah. Interference by any team eliminated is just so stupid and should be banned. There also shouldn't be a third place game, it should just automatically go to the higher seed.

Yahoo I believe has a setting to lock team rosters once they are eliminated from the playoffs, but our league also has a set of rules, and one being that you can not make any add drops after you are eliminated from the money. We also use the can't cut list to keep people like human torche from pull that d-bag move. Nothing worse than some disgruntled idiot pulling that crap. Besides locking his team and undoing what he did, he'd def not be invited back. That just shows a true lack of sportsmanship and character, but he still sounds like a young kid with some growing up to do.

This is probably an unpopular opinion and I'll probably get thrashed for it, but here it goes:

In the right league, I think it makes sense to let the consolation teams continue to make adds and drops.

In both of my leagues (competitive 12-teamers with very active managers that return year-in and year-out), the winner of the consolation bracket wins the most lottery balls that get drawn to decide draft position for the next year.

In that case, it makes a lot of sense for those owners to continue to try to stay competitive despite them being out of contention. It shouldn't really make a difference if you are in the Championship bracket or have been eliminated because you had to fight with those teams all season long for waiver priority. It's not like the Sixers or the Bucks are not allowed to pick up a guy on waivers JUST because they are in last place. It's arrogant and lazy to assume that JUST because your team hasn't been eliminated, you

Also, would you have the same problem if the guy in last place had picked up Gorgui Dieng as a speculative add during the last week or so of the regular season? It's not out of the realm of believability as Pek had been having ankle problems and the T'Wolves are basically out of contention, so they might as well develop their rookie big man.

Also, would you complain when the guy in last place picks up the waiver stud of the year (Terrence Jones 2014, Chandler Parsons 2013, Nikola Vucevic 2013, Ersan Ilyasova 2012)? They have just as much right to the waiver pool as the first place team does.

In Yahoo Public-style leagues where you don't know the guys personally, it TOTALLY MAKES SENSE to lock the losing teams to make sure no one drops their studs so the remaining teams in the playoffs are all superstar teams full of 1st rounders. However, in leagues where the managers can be held accountable in some way AND the consolation teams have incentive to win, it MAKES MORE SENSE to let them continue to scour waivers.

In your particular league and dynasty leagues, yeah sure, that all makes sense. In your standard redraft leagues however, the eliminated teams gain nothing from adding FA's, and not allowing the add drops also helps curb collusion. I was in a league once where an eliminated team was helping out his friend by adding hot FA's so his buddy wouldn't have to worry about facing these players on his opponents team, or dropping studs for his buddy to pick up off waiver. It all depends on the make up of the league i guess.

Personally, I don't really have a problem with teams adding players as if it is the regular season. It's the same deal - you weren't quick enough to get to the player you wanted. What I do have a problem with, is if you were to drop a player that wouldn't normally be dropped - now that's just plain obstructive to the spirit of the game.
