Looks like Dietrich is the last man standing at 2nd (Furcal DL, Solano to AAA).

Seems likely mid to low average (240-270), decent power, very little speed. His OBP is a little disguised by HBP's, but has shown throughout his career he will take one for the team so maybe that's a skill.

Not a bad deeper league and short term option if he comes out hot or if you whiffed on MI and there is nothing left (Such a ringing endorsement).

Was that picture taken after a run in with Tino Martinez? I say that 'tongue in cheek" but the Marlins are so dysfunctional and Deitrich is one of the few (maybe only?) players still on the team who were involved with that fiasco last year. I don't think he's a bad player and the Marlins would be smart to play him over Furcal but they do things differently down here.

My guess would be no matter how well he plays that Furcal will start over him as soon as he's ready (if he ever is)

Any chance he sees time at 3rd? He started there in yesterday's game and I've seen that rumor on a couple of sites.

Starting today, first at bat he gets a double. Really hope he ends up the regular second baseman

Just hit a homerun off of Zimmerman.. hes hitting good so far but ever since he took that ball to the face hes made 3 errors.. i think thats the big hold up here is his holding. And of course when Furcal comes back he'll lose even more playing time

Another jack. He's batting .308 with 3 hrs and 8 rbis in under 30 at bats. Worth keeping an eye on?

As long as Furcal is on the DL he will play every day.

He reminds me of Kelly Johnson. Definitely has some pop but not someone you want to rely on in standard leagues as an everyday fantasy option.

I'm taking a flyer on him in my keeper. His glove is mediocre and he'll k a ton, but I want to see if he can do a left handed dan uggla impersonation.

I like the look of this guy, and frankly I think cheap loria and the marlins are about to school the league. Most of their young players look better than advertised.

He doesnt strike out that much, 20.4% this year and 24% last year as a rookie. Dont really see that regressing unless he changes his swing but i think .265 20 is certainly possible

Also he has had a bad year with the glove but last year in more than double the innings he only had 2 errors vs this years 6. Also remember reading that the coach was praising his defense, but then he took a groundball off the chin in spring training. Personally, I think that is a huge reason for some of his defensive problems

He's still killing it at the plate. Could be a nice pick up for those lacking production from the 2B spot.

And now Furcal's been moved to the 60-day DL. Dietrich has some pop and is just 24 years old. Is this guy's arrow pointing way up now, especially in a keeper/dynasty?
