I can't edit my first post but spring training stats include:

2.86 era 22ip 12 hits 7er 21 SO 6 BB 0.82 WHIP

Great sleeper. Awesome stuff. Improved command.

There is a bias for pitchers in Colorado and because of that, people are not talking about this guy at all. Hopefully, for owners, that will change.

Actually starting to feel like CO starters are the new market inefficiency - people avoid them like the plague but if deployed correctly, they can return considerable value

I'm like you all i usually completely avoid but where all these Rockies guys were going this season it was worth it to take a chance. At Miami first start may help him get going early

I've ridden this train before...it's like that train in India that barely has track on the cliff, and when you look out the window on that side you see shaky grown and a 500' drop into the ravine.  Sure you're ok at the moment...but the fall, when it happens, is a doozy.

Not interested.

4 hits a walk and six k's through 7!  In Colorado and against the D-Backs.  Not bad at all... He's shown flashes before but this is something completely different.

This sums up my feeling about Colorado pitchers in Coors perfectly.

Nicasio did look good today though.

His stuff is nasty. I wouldn't start a thread if I felt someone is mediocre.

If he is available in 12 team leagues, which he likely is for a majority of them, then I suggest people grab this guy before people take notice.

He's always had a good (albet straight) fastball. But the hard slider he showed in his 1st start is brand spanking new. Got a lot of swings and misses on that pitch. And he had an excellent Spring Training. I'm sort of intrigued.

I think he makes a leap this year. Worst case scenario: he turns into Edwin Jackson, who has also fooled me before.

i'm waiting it out. i decided on g. richards @SEA over him. kind of scared of nicasio's matchup vs. CWS at home in Colorado. prob going to pick him up for his start @SD next time. keep an eye on him, only 1% owned. but if he pitches another really good game at home vs the white sox, i'm grabbing him ASAP.

color me interested. his minor league stats are pretty damn solid, esp his walk rates, so youd expect his whip to get much better from his first few years in the bigs.

word just scooped him up. can't wait on these guys in my league.  his minors numbers have sold me, coupled with his spring numbers this year and the video from that first start.  that slider is nasty.  thanks rotoworld (petey pop), as he flew under my radar completely.

Aaaaaand he's Edwin Jackson. Fastball and a slider. If the command is off, he gets hit hard.

except he hasn't been hit hard at all.  choppers finding spots is not really within his control.

You're watching a different game than me. He doesn't look very sharp. Getting behind in a lot of counts. Not fooling anyone today. Pitch count is high, too.
