Seems that he can hit a little, but is he a prospect?

Had 27 steals in the minors one year. Rays need a spark so he'll get a chance with Myers out. He has 3 HRs, so worth a look

Incredible that this guy has no notice. Even if he flames out, it shows what hype vs no hype does to a call up. Has shown the ability to hit for average and speed in the minors. Has come to the majors and displayed power and average. At the very least, he needs more than 3 posts!

So the good is that he has the potential to give some average, steal some bases, and he's going to get solid PT with Myers out. The bad is (albeit in a very limited sample size) he has a 17.4% swinging strike rate coupled with a 60.4% contact rate. That spells out sub .250 hitter if he did that. For now though, worth the flier depending league size.

Not worth it this season unless you're in a very, very deep league but I think he has some potential. Furthermore, it's very possible he plays a lot more next season, since I highly doubt Matt Joyce will be in TB for much longer.

Personally I love Kiermaier. He is probably the hardest working player in the organization and really wants to prove himself. He was a late round pik and worked his way up and improved everything. Jor Maddon claims that he thinks Kiermaier has the best arm in all of baseball and he has been workin hard to improve his base running. His speed is amazing as shown in the double he hit today on a soft grounder in shallow right, if he can improve his base running and keep hitting for average next year he could have a very nice year and emerge.

He'll be really good until Derek Shelton has enough time with him, then he'll suck like the rest of the Rays.

I like this guy a lot. Deep, deep sleeper, but definitely has some potential.
His skillset seems a lot more dynamic than the other duds in the Tampa lineup.

I wouldn't expect too many home runs, but I can see him becoming a sort of Josh Harrison/ Denard Span hybrid

Good post. I think he can maybe hit a little bit better than those two guys too.

He's going to have himself a job for a while. Quietly has tied for 6th in WAR amongst all hitters over the past 30 days. Yes, a good bit of that is tied to his defense, and I'm cherry picking stats there, but how often do rookies come up, affect a game so much, and not get discussed? With a scheduled 10 very hittable righties over his next 12 games, including 5 in a row starting tomorrow, I think he's going to be picking up some runs and steals very soon and he should start catching some more owners' eyes.

He has been a little bit of a surprise. But with the whole team sucking, why not just let the kid play? They'll almost certainly decide he'll be around in the future, and Matt Joyce probably won't be. That OF spot should belong to KK next season.

KK hit 3rd tonight. With Dejesus joining Myers on the shelf, the horrible hurting Rays are searching for anything. KK hit a ball to the warning track and also homered, so I'd imagine he gets another shot or two hitting 3rd. He's fast btw and bad teams try to manufacture runs. I'm obviously a fan of his game. I wouldn't be shocked if I was wrong and he fizzled out, but something tells me this kid should be owned in more leagues.

So... he just continues to hit. If he's even an average hitter with how good his defense is, the Rays have themselves their CF of the future.

He's worth a speculative add at this point in standard leagues I would think. Starting to remind me of Danny Santana where he just never regresses when everyone just keeps waiting for it.

He hasn't shown power in minors but 6 HR now has to mean something. He is a tall left hander, and a lot of times thos types of hitters can generate power out of nowhere and go on to hit for decent power.

Playing time when Myers comes back and Maddon playing lineups are more of a concern than "regression"

Very true, but Myers and Dejesus will be out another month at least, and if KK is still raking at that point, they will surely find a spot for him.

You may be right with the lineups, I didn't understand how he was batting 9th today. I still think if he just produces the lineup spot will be negligent. It may hurt a little but if he maintains .300 with solid power and adds some speed, I could live without some extra RBI or R. Also, in the AL, the lineup spot isn't as crucial as the NL, imo.

Make the add. Ask questions later. He's homered in three straight games, and is 10 for his last 26 (.385) with 6 RBI in his last 6 games. The power is a little fluky, but he's shown good speed in the minors so he can be solid across the board. Joe Maddon will stick with him as long as he's hitting like this, and the fact that he plays excellent defense certainly doesn't hurt his chances for PT.

I added him two weeks ago in my AL-Only and he's produced a .300 average, .881 OPS, 5 runs, 4 HR, 9 RBI. Waiver wire gold for as long as it lasts!
